Custom Hand Built $4000 bass gets dropped right when it was reaching its final assembly

I commissioned a Luthier (guitar builder) to craft my dream bass fully customized from the ground up.

Right when he was doing the final setup (basically completed) he dropped it and it shattered. This was after 2 years in the making

This has a semi happy ending luckily. By God's grace it was still repairable after the drop due to the way it cracked. I had to wait 6 more months for the Crack repair plus the refinishing of Nitrocellulose (it takes a while to cure)

I actually have the bass now, but not without some battle scars on the bottom (and some slightly gummed up nitro). It is still absolutely beautiful and makes for a great story

Never felt my heart drop like that in my life. the news being delivered was brutal. Thankfully he is amazing at his job and was able to recover it after a while. I did get $500 off as well

The third picture was the bass before the drop (the nitrocellulose gloss in the 3rd had to be sanded off to start over with the repair)

78 p bass authentication help

I’ve got a line locally to buy this. What red flags should I look for?

I’ve seen posts where a date tag is in the pickup cavity. Stamps in the neck pocket. What should these look like? Any variations etc. thanks in advance.

Finally got it: Washburn force abt b-10

Got this off facebook marketplace for $50 (60 swiss francs) and finally tested it,neck is straight, active pickups work and i just had to clean it up a bit and tighten a volume knob that was extremely loose.

Otherwise I'll get new strings asap and hopefully soon enough a peavey amp since right now i only play it through my interface/guitar amp.

Should i get neon strings? They appeal me alot but idk about the playability

I recorded a bass cover of my favorite song from the game

I don't know if this belongs here, but I recorded a bass cover of Jump Up Superstar for instagram and a friend told me to post it to some related subs! :D

Fun little Mustang build I did today :)

Allparts PRIMO body, Fender MIM Player II neck from Stratosphere, EMG Classic PJ, Gotoh bridge and tuners. Just needs a chrome control plate. It sounds and plays great!

NBD Epiphone Thunderbird ‘64

I wanted one in Inverness Green when they came out. Musician’s Friend is having a sale on them, I called and get an extra 10% off and almost $50 off from points I had accrued. All in all, can’t in are just over $500!

Edit: some spelling errors

Help: Identifying my bass

I just recently got this bass from a friend of mine who repairs guitars at a music store, and I have no idea what it is. At first, I thought it was a Yamaha TRBX174EW, but it doesn’t really match the other ones I’ve seen online.

My guess is that it’s a Yamaha TRBX174EW with a bunch of upgrades Hipshot bridge, EMG pickups, Spector tuners, and possibly even a replacement neck. The neck especially feels way more luxe compared to other lower-end Yamahas I’ve played.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Update: I've received a lot of validation for my theory, and I appreciate it. I will fix my string tree!

The tone knob on my precision bass isn't working. Is there something wrong with the wiring?

The good, the bad, and the classic. My current line up

Obviously the CB-4 is absolutely amazing, not bad, i just put that because it contrasts the Ibanez white color. Ive owned a ton of basses and these 3 have been the best so far. The Fender has modded GZR Butler EMGs

New addition to the family!

Snagged this Ibanez SR1356B secondhand for €600. Only 1.5 years old. In love with the neck, the weight, the sound, the tonal control and the low b. Slapping sounds like shit due to my own lack of experience though. Can’t wait to learn how to implement the high c in my playing!

3/4 bass for a short bloke like me

I’ve been playing this 90’s Valencia 3/4 bass for over a year now and it’s my favourite because I’m not a tall bloke so I don’t have to reach as far, is there any other recommendations for a bass for this short bloke? I have a 5 string too and heaps of other basses but I’m always drawn to the 3/4

Squier Jazz Bass, worth PLUCKING up?

Sorry for the bad pun! Squier Jazz Bass. Looks to be an affinity series, but I’m not sure what series it is truly. Any help would be amazing!
Edited for clarification.
EDIT: Solved! This is an Affinity from a starter pack around 2011. Thanks y’all! Plays amazing, sounds great.
