i’m so damn tired from the sheer desensitization of our society.

its genuinely terrifying how cold and apathetic our society is when it comes to honor killings or femicides. you’d think something this horrific literally murdering a family member over something SO stupid would spark massive outrage but instead it’s just treated like casual everyday news. some people get angry online and everyone moves on like it's nothing the next week waiting until there is another victim and the loop keeps going.

it makes my stomach turn. and letting fucking criminals celebrating their murder without being jailed?? and if they do get jailed they can be bailed out or get lenient sentences??? I feel like I’m losing my mind watching everyone around me act like this barbaric mindset is completely normal. I'm just exhausted by it all.

not just that. when i post about this in english media to raise global awarness, i get dismissed because the oppressors and the doers of these crimes come from “marginalized” groups?? and i kid you not i even got some people tell me honor killings are a western invention.. can we even win? what exactly can we even do?

i will never forget any honor killing victim. i will forever remember hadil al harithi, dua khalil aswad, aida al-hamoudi, rasha bseis and recently kawthar bashar, and many more that were not reported even if it happened 50+ years ago. we should not stop posting about them until it gets recognized as an active gendercide.

and apparently women working is destroying the economy.. my 4 year old cousin understands economics more than these grown ass men. when women enter the paid workforce they contribute directly to measured economic output (GDP) and shifting activity from unpaid household work (which isn’t counted in GDP) to market production and closing gender gaps in labor force participation will add $7 TRILLION to the global economy. and this clown says the opposite just because. he is not the only one who believes in this stupid shit. they don’t even bother studying and doing research. they follow what other men says and believe it.
