Shoe advice needed — 160kg, 6ft1, daily walks + treadmill/stairmaster

Hey all, looking for some advice. I’m 160kg and 6ft1, so carrying a fair bit of weight and need something that can actually handle it without falling apart or killing my joints.
Main use is daily walks — we’re talking an hour+ most days. Also going to be putting them through some treadmill and stairmaster sessions too, so they need to be able to take a beating.
Someone recommended the ASICS Novablast 5 to me and from what I’ve read it looks decent — loads of cushioning, apparently pretty durable and not as heavy as you’d expect for a max-stack shoe. The foam’s supposed to be soft but still supportive enough that it doesn’t just bottom out, which sounds like what I need.
A few things I’m unsure about though:
• Anyone here on the heavier side running/walking in these? How do they hold up?
• Is the stability okay for someone my size or does it feel wobbly underfoot?
• Any other shoes worth considering in a similar price range?
Not looking to run marathons or anything, just want something comfortable enough to actually enjoy the walks and not wreck my feet on the gym machines. Cheers

Hi all,

I’m considering buying the Garmin fēnix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar GPS, 47mm, Grey/Black for £379.

For those who own one, or have recently upgraded from/to it: is it still worth buying in 2026 at that price?

I’d mainly use it for general fitness tracking, running, gym workouts, hiking/walking, health metrics, GPS, battery life, and everyday smartwatch use. I’m not too bothered about having the absolute newest model, but I do want something that will still feel solid for the next few years.

A few things I’m wondering:

Is £379 a good deal for the Sapphire Solar version?

How does it hold up now compared with newer Garmin models?

Are there any major drawbacks I should know about?

Would you buy it again in 2026, or spend more on something newer?

Thanks in advance.
