I will not promote: Releasing a completely free app but with support memberships

I've been building, for a year, a note-taking app similar to Obsidian but AI-focused. Locking some features wouldn't be a good idea because obsidian is there and it's free.

Right now I've put in the main UI a little button that says "Become a Founder", and it's basically a $15/month support subscription. the benefits is that these members get access to private discord channels where they can contribute to the decision-making process.

Good or bad?

Hey, I'm a bachelor's graduate. Job market is pretty dead, so I am quite interested in getting involved with something. I have pretty good foundations in AI and can learn new things fast.

Can do data analysis, data visualization, MLE, or anything with GenAI

I've been working on an app for a year now. My main reason for wanting it to be FOSS is that I don't have to pay anything for servers.

It has AI features but right now it's a bring your own key, or use local models. I also have something that converts pdfs to markdown for ease of learning, but it requires the user's pc to have a good GPU.

Do I have a path towards monetization?
