Higher offer as soon as I started new job
I recently started a new role at a company I’m really liking. Great industry, great upside potential and room for growth, and great team that’s treating me right.
A company I was interviewing with for a while just reached out to me with an offer that is $30K higher on the base ($60-80K higher on the total comp). While I do really like the company I just started with, it’s a lot of money to leave on the table.
The problem is: I just now started like less than two weeks ago and it will look awful leaving so abruptly. I also know that the company I started at is already paying me at top band. The company I work at now seems like more of a stable company that will grow and be around for a while, whereas the new company is a boom or bust AI company. Both are growing, the new one has a higher ceiling and the current one has a higher floor.
How do I navigate this? Better to stay put and not tarnish industry reputation? Or strategize my exit carefully and not leave money on the table?
