First trip with my wife’s new Monos hard-sided checked luggage and it got damaged on the last leg returning to Seattle. It was late at night and we didn’t notice until we got home. Submitted their damage form, photos, and a receipt for its purchase. I just heard back and they stated I need to have it evaluated by a certified luggage repair facility to determine extent, cost, and most effective repair.
“If the bag can be repaired, please provide a copy of the repair invoice.
-If the bag is deemed beyond repair, please submit a written statement from the repair facility confirming this, along with documentation verifying the original purchase value of the bag.
Please note that if the required documentation is not provided, compensation for the damaged baggage will be limited to a maximum of USD 100.”
Question for the group is do I need to have Monos evaluate it? I know there are repair places all over but are they considered authorized? And I wanted to know your general thoughts on this process if you have dealt with it before. Please though, I’m not here for the “you should have bought soft-sided luggage crowd”. I’m already hearing that enough at home.
Appreciate your advise. Pics attached.
