How would you describe your satisfaction with CSN?

Im thinking about transferring from NSU to CSN to cut the cost of my low level classes, but I’m worried about it being the right fit.

If you’re a freshman, how has the experience been so far? Are there enough events? Are the professors good? Is the campus nice?

I have pretty much the same questions for people who are further in their college experience l, but I just want some perspective from people in my age group, as well as people who are choosing to stay there

It’s SO hard to make friends here

I’m a commuter just like 70% (or something) of the people that go here. So a lot of us are missing out on that independence and dorm experience already. I don’t have a lunch period where I can sit in the library, or the student success center, or even outside—so when am I supposed to have casual opportunities to meet people here?

In class, we hardly get opportunities to chat outside of class work…and that can be hard to turn into a genuine conversation. On top of that, it seems like people don’t like switching up where they sit, so you’re always by the same people.

A lot of people transferred here in friend groups weirdly enough, either from csn or other unis, out of state/country, high school, etc. so they just stick with their friends.

I personally go 2 times a week and have 3 in person classes, and one of those classes I only go once a week. It’s just not enough time to bond with my peers.

I looked at the bulletin board for school events and a lot of them are during when I have class, or I’d have to drive all the way down here just to attend an event that might have a few people total.

The Instagram is pretty small compared to every other school’s, and a lot of the students following them won’t accept friend requests if they don’t already know you

Some people suggest going to unlv events but how?? I feel like you have to know people at unlv but what if you don’t?

Is it too late to join clubs? And please don’t suggest this as some magical option, I know they’re a good way to meet people. But do I have to drive far out just to attend? Do they cost money on top of tuition and gas?

I get that it’s not a party school. I’m not really a party person. I’m going here to get a degree as cheaply as possible. But what am I supposed to do about making friends? I don’t want to regret coming here because I couldn’t socialize during what is supposed to be the easiest time to socialize
