Teacher reviews?

Hi all in Fall 26’ i’m set to be in BIOL189 teacher is Anna Becker i looked at the reviews on her on ratemyprofessor and almost ALL of the reviews are NEGATIVE. i’m extremely nervous because i don’t want to pay for this class just to fail because (allegedly) her lectures, grading , and exams don’t go hand in hand with each other.
Does anyone have personal experience? Am i likely to fail? I really can’t afford to drop this class and take it in spring that’ll put me back a whole semester . What should I do?

Nursing Program

Hi! Sorry, lots of questions! Can anyone tell me what the nursing program is like? Comparing it to the biology classes, etc. What is the workload like? How often do we go to classes, clinical sites, etc? How did it feel compared to the prerequisites? Did you feel prepared for the program? Thank you!

TEAS

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone from the nursing program has gotten in being in the 2nd pile? I just did my TEAS exam and got a 87% Reading, 82.4% Math, 79.5% Science, and 69.7% English. I know that doesn’t matter though since I didn’t meet the requirements for English :( I’m wondering if it’s better off to retake or just cross my fingers and hope….

Financial Aid Offers

Does anyone know when the financial aid offers for Fall 2026 will be sent out? Classes are supposed to start next month and I haven’t received any offers for a Pell Grant. I did complete the correct FAFSA already. Thanks!

Commuting/ Nurs prog

For context i’ve been taking pre-Req at Henderson campus for two years. My apartment is 10 minutes from campus and I work two jobs within a five minute radius.

At the first orientation meeting, they said a majority of nursing classes are at West Charleston .

I know the clinical will be a random place as well..

I really hate commuting in the city and now I’m questioning what to do since I’ve built my life around the Henderson campus And I have at least another two years for this program..

Math 120e vs 124e ?

I haven’t taken math in very many years so I didn’t do the ALEKS placement considering I know I will need an expanded class.

I need 124e but, will it help if I take 120e first ?

Although I have been away from school I am maintaining straight A’s in non math classes and am worried about it effecting my GPA.

120e will be with Prof Turk OR 124e with Prof Echinnique

TIA

Radiation Therapy reject

Third year in a row. The grief is building. I guess I need to do something else. And pay for it without student loans since I have hit my max with Financial Aid and there's no way they'll give me anything. Very discouraged.

Radiation therapy application

Hi everyone! Has anyone been accepted into a Radiation Therapy program after taking PHYS 110 online?

I already completed PHYS 110 online, but I recently heard physics may need to be taken in person. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this. TIA!

BIOL 223 lab: does it go up until the posted time or do you get let out a few minutes early?

Going back to school after a few years! I’m trying to figure out the best schedule to balance with work.

Basically the title. I took 223 a few years ago, got a C-, and then dropped out lol. If my memory serves me right, most days our instructor would let us out a few minutes early, it’s not like we had to stay up until the exact hour every week. But I 1) don’t remember for sure 2) am doing lab at a different campus this time around.

There is also no instructor currently listed for the lab I’m enrolled in.

My dilemma is the lab I signed up for is scheduled from 4-7pm. I need to change my work schedule and I was thinking taking the shift that starts at 7pm. I work less than 10 minutes away from campus, so if lab gets out by 6:50 on most days it’s no issue and I don’t even have to bring it up to my boss/coworkers. If they mandate we stay up until 7pm on the dot, I can get to work around 7:10pm, which isn’t ideal but I can ask my boss about it.

However, has anyone ever stayed past the scheduled time for lab? Not talking about a one off occurrence but multiple times in a semester. If lab gets let out late regularly (like 7:10pm), I would be getting to work at 7:20pm which probably wouldn’t fly and I’d need to rethink this entire schedule.

Anyways, what has your experience been? I know the obvious answer would probably “don’t pick a lab that ends at 7pm if work starts at 7pm”, but I’m very limited on what possibilities I have for my work schedule (and subsequently school/lab schedule) this semester, and if I stand a reasonable chance of being let out 10 minutes early on most days this could be a feasible schedule for me!

Thanks in advance for the input :)

Nursing

Are most of you getting your BSN at CSN or transferring to NSU? If you transferred, how is the experience? Does NSU require additional pre reqs? I am changing my major from sonography to nursing and am looking at options for the future!
