LLMs are basically the Family Feud of tech
Now before anyone gets their titties in a twist, I love Family Feud. It’s probably my favorite game show. But it’s also kinda dumb, right? Unlike Jeopardy or Who Wants to be a Millionaire, there’s no actual trivia. No factual answers to any of the questions. It’s all just vibes & guessing the vibe of the average American
When Steve Harvey asks “how many sandwiches do you eat in a week?” He’s not asking you literally how many sandwiches you ate that week, he’s not even asking for an educated guess on how many sandwiches the average American eats…he’s asking you how many sandwiches do you THINK people THINK they eat in a week. It’s a survey, not a study. All vibes
Consumer grade AI is really no different. When you ask Gemini or Grok or ChatGPT a question, you’re basically ‘asking 100 Americans’ but on a much larger scale. That’s why AI gets so many things wrong. That’s why it’s frustrating when people treat AI answers like a real source. It doesn’t give you truth, it gives you the collective opinion of the internet (with a lil bit of pandering & agenda mixed in) which could easily be right or wrong
To make matters worse, it’s often an amalgamation of differing opinions. A perfect example of this is recipes. If you try to google a recipe now, Gemini will find multiple recipes from different places online & put them together as one recipe. Maybe measurements from this recipe, cook times from that recipe. Even if the individual recipes contradict each other. Anyone who cooks or bakes knows this ain’t ideal lol
My point is…we’re all vibe coding a vibe machine. Making vibe pictures, vibe videos, vibe music, vibe recipes. But not much of real substance. That’s fine if it’s all in good fun & treated as a novelty, but let’s try to not give the Steve Harvey machine too much power & prestige ok? Pretty please

Genuine question
I’ve been hearing that new data centers are being planned for this state. Why?
We are the most drought prone state with the 2nd highest electricity prices in the country. These aren’t factories or stores, they’re massive warehouses full of servers that provide web based services. They could basically be built anywhere, so why here?
This might be more about land and resource acquisition than people realize. These decisions clearly aren’t being made with public interest in mind, regardless of how you feel about AI
