McDonald's store using Not Activated POS

I'm just curious about PCI DSS compliance at McDonald's store, I believe it should be level 1 of merchant? I found it this morning at Union Station, you can see Windows not activated. Any issues?

The future of Alberta: Viable independent nation, or the 51st state of the US?

I've been thinking about the sovereignty debate. Does Alberta realistically have the economic and political structural backing to exist as a fully independent country? Or would a separation from Canada inevitably lead to integration into the US?
