I'm so glad I got both, I was genuinely considering not getting this one but it will look stunning with the peacock! I am in love with these pieces.

I've taken a photo with my overhead lights on so you can see what the background of these prints look like irl. The ink from Murakamis signature doesn't stick to the matte bits of the background so it's looks kinda patchy but I've seen in other prints with this background that they have the same issue.

My next prints won't be coming until December/January but I'm excited to see everyone else's prints as they come in!

I'm not sure if people are as interested in clothing drops vs art drops but I figured I'd share it and see!

The webstore is dropping a range of denim items on the 7th of October at 7pm JST. Jackets are priced between ¥54,000-¥58,000 and jeans are priced between ¥40,000-¥44,000.

They're out of my price range especially with framing coming up (💸) but if I had the funds the jacket would've been tempting- I'd hope for the price it's a really high quality denim.

My print of "Re: 'Peacock and Hollyhock Screen' - After 40 years, I have finally been able to paint the peacock that inspired me to become a painter." arrived just now. It is gorgeous. My phone camera + it being overcast doesn't do the background foil details or the vibrancy justice. Now to impatiently wait for the rest of the prints to come in and go in to get them framed!

I literally just got the notification about this event and the Sydney tickets were already sold out. The Sephora events are getting really hard to actually access.

One extra thing that sucks is that they don't have accessability information available on the event page (Eventbrite does have a prompt to add this info) so even if I wanted tickets by the time they got back to me they'd be sold out. I'm always cautious with pop up events as a wheelchair user as I've been to 3 this year (including the hourglass one in Martin place in Sydney) and they just don't bother to put wheelchair accessability information anywhere and usually don't have a contact. I didn't manage to get tickets to the House of Sephora but there also wasn't any accessability information available on that.

I personally still can't justify the cost of the clothes but the jackets are always really tempting, I would personally need them altered a bunch so it's never worth it but I know there are some fanes of the brand in here!

They have posted here saying "This is a thank you for your support following the successful completion of the 15 consecutive sales of Takashi Murakami's signed edition prints, and an announcement regarding the upcoming exhibition and sale of the actual prints at secondary prices."

I kinda can't believe it's been 15 prints! The Instagram reel had Korpokkur in it so I wonder if they will end up doing some kind of drop of that, however it seems like the twice a week print drops have finished.

It's been great helping people buy the art that they wanted! I'll probably post some interesting drops as they come but for now my weekly posts have ended. I'm excited to see people share their art when it starts arriving and how we all frame them!!

I'm surprised to see this one released after the last print, I thought they would've released them in order. Maybe they wanted to separate this one so we wouldn't notice the price difference?

I'm honestly torn on if I'm going to buy it. I have the flower puzzle that is almost identical to this that I posted in the sub earlier but the rainbow is shifted slightly. But the prints are so much less of a hassle to frame 😅

I figured I'd share this here incase anyone was feeling their wallets were crying but we're still interested in the flower print- they have 5 puzzles online, 2 of which are similar to the flower print dropping on Sunday! They're 50cm, so 10cm smaller than the print but with the price difference, it might be worth it! They've had the puzzles in stock in the physical store for a while and the flower puzzles dropped last year iirc, I'm not sure if these are a limited drop on the website since it's on theme with the print. Edit- they've added 2 more! If you like puzzles, you've hit the jackpot!

So it turns out that murakami is holding an exhibition at his in-house gallery Hidari Zingaro which will feature all the pieces that we've seen dropping plus some more.

If you're going to be in Japan this August you might be able to pick up some higher quality (AP/SP versions) of the prints. I wonder if there'll be some of the standard prints for sale in store or if they'll all be AP/SP and they're only selling the standard prints online

On the Hidari Zingaro instagram there is this post which shows some other artworks which I'm hoping will drop as prints soon 👀.

I'm planning to continue posting about the drops so that people who may not usually see the releases will be able to stay up to date! So many people are get their first murakami pieces and it makes me really happy to see people able to get what they want!

Not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't this as his next drop. I kinda love it?

Alternate title- I was wrong speculating that the prints out it just being released in just July 😬. If people want me to stop posting updates, I totally can. I know some people didn't know what he was dropping art till the post I made a few weeks back so I'm doing it for people who may not know but if it's getting repetitive I'm happy to stop!

Stunning piece. Also giant at 455.3mm x 930mm. I wonder if it's his last release of the bunch since it's the end of July and he's been releasing them every few days in July, I have a feeling this might be the last drop of the bunch especially since one shipped in December and is seemingly the only one to be shipped in December, but honestly who knows at this point.

Google the sale time for your time zone! They sell out quickly so you wanna be online when it becomes available and try and buy it quickly.

The item usually shows up in the webstore about 30 minutes before it drops.

Hate WorldShopping? Google some Japan forwarding services/proxy buying services that will provide you with an address but don't share the service you use in the comments as it may get flagged as spam & this release is limited to one per customer so it may flag in the system if 13 people are using the same addresses so you may end up with your order cancelled anyway, WorldShopping is the safest albeit slower service. You can be successful through WorldShopping but you gotta be early and have luck behind you. If you've not had luck I really suggest seeing what other forwarding services are around if you like this print, people in this sub have had good luck with using services that are not WorldShopping.

These arnt silkscreen/the same stuff you get at a exhibition or on a canvas. It is a museum quality print though so the details are high quality it just doesn't have that satisfying texture that silkscreen prints have (silkscreens are always going to be more pricey).

He may just be doing a month of drops since there hasn't been one in over a year, there's no real way to know why he's dropping these now and I'm what order and when it'll stop.

I know a lot of us love the cherry blossom motif (me included) so I figured I'd share that Tonari no Zingaro online has the Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom print available for sale on Sunday 19th July at 12pmJST for ¥88,200 and there will be 300 prints from this drop. If I didn't have the puzzle I'd be jumping in getting this print however the webstore has done some pretty good print releases the past few weeks so I've scored some stunning pieces. It's a huge print too at 555.6 x 1000mm
