Time to say goodbye
On Friday I woke up and my phone was off. tried to start it up and went to a boot loop. I suspected that it was going to be the end but I took it to the repair shop nevertheless. Today I received a call from the shop saying its a motherboard issue and they can try to fix it for something crazy like 250€, I politely declined as they said it might work for a few mins and then die again.
For anyone interested about how I'm proceeding, you can keep reading. I bought a slightly used oneplus 15 base model 256gb 12gb ram for 650€. On Friday after work I hit the shops to try out a few devices see if something clicks with me since I really didn't want to change my device. Spent like an hour there checking the s26u which for some reason felt like a completely different device to what I was using. Can't really pinpoint why, menus were different, phone didn't feel much faster. All in all didn't feel like much of an upgrade, even though I didnt have my s23u with me for it to be a head2head. Xiaomi 17/17U were just meh, those phones felt super slow even after adjusting refresh rate, 0.5x animations etc. pixel phones are overpriced. I tried some oppo reno devices, only ones I could find locally, tbf they were the best phones I tried from the bunch.
I wish you all the best and I'm glad I was part of this community for the past 3 years. Hope to see some of you in the comments and I wish no-one of you has to deal with an unexpected loss 🫰
