When they can't have it, they destroy it anyway.

On the last day of an otherwise successful tour, my bike was smashed up in a hotel car park. It looks like a couple of guys tried to get the disc lock off, couldn't, and then just decided to go to town with a hammer. Headlight and dash are both done. Multiple fairing panels cracked along with some other damage. The bike was tipped for good measure.

Police obviously can't do much (balaclavas and gloves). No insurance for this, and it looks like the repairs are going to cost me dearly. At least the rest of the tour went well...

Fitted textile trouser

I'm doing a couple of tours this summer. I wanted to buy a half decent textile trouser which was reasonably waterproof, and comfortable to wear on and off the bike. Don't know if I'm just weirdly proportioned but every textile trouser I've tried is ludicrously baggy (despite fitting in waist and length).

I think what I'm looking for in terms of fit would be more like jeans or cargo trousers, which happen to be laminated/waterproofed.

Anyone got any ideas? Stylistically trying to match a Merlin Burslem jacket.

I do already have a waterproof outer layer but I don't want to have to pull over for every shower to put them on.
