Need help finding a cheaper indicator for MOT
Long story short I came off my bike earlier this year and snapped my indicator stalk, I haven’t been able to find a reasonably priced indicator since due to the bike being a 2023 model. (Cheapest I can find is £68+ shipping)
Now the time has come where I need to replace it due to the bike needing a MOT next month
The OEM part number is: 33400k0ne01
I have been tempted to just rewire some aftermarket indicators but I’m unsure or how to measure it to make sure they fit well as they don’t bolt in.
If anyone coincidentally has a spare OEM indicator lying around I’d love to buy it off of you.
The bike is a Honda cb125f 2023
Thanks guys
South of England ride suggestions for tomorrow...
Howdy.
Bikes being serviced tomorrow, and whilst that's happening I am being loaned a test bike for the day, pick up around 9, drop off around 4.30/5
Would like the opportunity to do a bigger ride than normal. I live near Guildford and usually go out onto the South Downs etc.
Looking for ideas or recommendations for a ride ideally with a stop off point. I was thinking a nice country pub for lunch, or fish & chips by the sea etc etc.
Hit me!
Had a go at making my own aluminium panniers.
Designed in Autodesk inventor, then laser cut from aluminium, CNC folded on a press brake - riveted and locks fitted. Total cost to me was £9 - for the u bolts to mount them. Everything else was found in the scrap bin or consumables supply.
Wiring Help
Attempting to wire in a horn on my race bike to get it through its MOT. I’ve tried the above setup and it’s not working! Anything obvious? Thanks in advance.
New Rider advice from blokes please
So - passed my cbt, got my 1st bike, built up courage to go on 1st solo ride - loved it.
Started realising once I had gotten bit more comfy on my ride, that my plums are getting smashed by the tank on the regular and my AAA jeans are offering little protection for the the boys. How do you stop getting your knackers hit by the tank, and how do you keep them warm! It was only 14C yesterday and I didn't go over 50mph, mostly just riding around residential areas(<30mph) - but by the time I got home, I needed to warm my plums by the radiator.
Advice please gents!
Looking For: Freelance Motorcycle Instructor (DVSA)
It’s a long shot, but I’m hoping the riding community can help. I’m in desperate need of a DVSA motorcycle instructor to cover 4 weeks worth of prearranged training in the Yorkshire region.
Rates negotiable. If you know anyone, please advise.
Thank you!
First bike advice
Went through a bit of a midlife crisis at 30 and did my CBT the other week and got through it no problem. However being me, completely forgot that to ride a bike you need to get a bike 😂 not that I will be able to afford one anytime soon but was looking for advice on good 125cc motorbikes to get? Prefer the sportier side in terms of looks but open to most bikes. Again, won’t be getting one anytime soon but can at least keep a look out for what’s in my area
Speed cameras in vans
Was riding home today. 4 lanes road and I was in the left one. At the opposite side of the road there was new Ford Transit speed camera van.
So I approached towards its front at about 30mph in 20mph zone. But slowed down and passed exactly at 20mph. I noticed the rear door had window open, so just guess they were shooting from there and by that time I was 20 for sure.
Do these modern vans track front and correlate bikes by video? Or I am likely fine due to No face no case?
Cheers
Goggles fog up whilst stationary or moving slowly.
As above, they’re absolutely fine whilst moving but as soon as I come to a stop or slow down they fog up.
Are there better goggles out there (whilst still looking the part) or is there something I can apply to them to stop them fogging up?
Ta!
How annoying are the 20mph limits in Wales?
I'm not sure where i want to go for my first tour on the VFR this year and one option was possibly going back to Wales to ride the routes I had done on my previous bike. This was the last year before the 20mph limits were put into place, so I don't know what the rides would look like now. The VFR doesn't really like to be at 20 in 2nd gear, and in 1st it is kind of choppy with how little throttle you have to hold...
Are they very intrusive? Or just in the more tourist towns and areas?
Doing CBT soon - lessons?
Completely new to bikes - only sat on a mates one and gone vroom vroom with it (too scared to move anywhere on it).
Do I get a couple lessons before I do my CBT? I’m sure I’d be fine taking it straight away but part of me wants to make sure I’m doing it right. If I’m honest I’ve not even heard of bike lessons so fuck knows maybe I’m very sheltered or they just don’t really exist.
Waffling now thanks bye 🙋🏽♂️
First long solo trip [Update]
Just wanted to say thank you for all replies to my previous post and all advice given. I ended up doing a small detour through Łódź. This added about 300 miles to my trip but it looks like I am doing a pretty good time. I am on modest CBR125. Originally I planned a first stop in Dresden but as the weather is really good and there's little traffic then I will try to push it to my second planned stop in Gießen and take second night stop before the ferry in Aachen. Once again thank you for all advice.
Can anyone provide some clarity on buying used Furygan In&Motion airbag
I have found a used airbag for sale in a second hand shop near me and am thinking of buying it - but it seems like these airbags require either a subscription to or an outright purchase of the box that is the brains of the operation. I don't really want to pay the subscription, and I'm wondering if the box that they have in the shop will work without paying anything extra. Is there anything that can tell me whether the box is working as part of an outright purchase or whether I will have to pay a subscription to use it?
Help installing air box
Hello all, quick question, but does anybody have any advice on getting this on at all? The other parts are happily going in, just this big part is being a pain in the arse to put on to my carb.
Any tips or help would be hugely appreciated
Ammo box pannier?
Anybody have any experience using these? I once saw a scrambler round town that looked like someone’s rat bike…had a military-esque theme and I quite liked it tbh. Bit of a mad max feel. Told myself I would copy the ammo box idea once I have my bike. I have a retro scrambler with a khaki fuel tank, and I think an ammo box would suit it nicely. I’m not the most practical of fellas, so how exactly would I do it? Is there somewhere I could take the bracket and ammo box to and pay someone to weld it? Some kind of latch to allow a padlock would be a good addition.
I won a bike! I’m frankly fucking stoked and wanted to share it with you all!
Places to ride near West London??
Hi everyone,
Just got my first bike😁😁, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for areas to check out near west london.
Thanks👍👍👍.
Just picked up my first 125 bike, first solo ride.
Not sure why I decided to buy a bike 3 hours from home, obviously didn't think through the fact I'd have to ride it home.
Got caught in a hail storm. Soaked through, wind was nuts.
I have waterproofs but hadn't considered a way to actually bring them with me and it wasn't raining when I left.
Nobody warned me your balls get cold. Everything else was toasty warm but I'm definitely going to have to rethink the underpants situation.
Bike did OK though, just about would get up to 70 but mostly just cruised behind lorries. Hadnt gone above 30 in the basic training so even 60 felt fast. Didn't dare filter yet... I'm guessing that confidence will come with practice.
Riding in survival mode
I’m a beginner rider with adhd & autism (CBT + 3 DAS sessions) I’m struggling because my body goes into fight/flight as soon as we go on the road. I become tense, overloaded and my riding performance drops. I’ve driven cars for years with no accidents, but also found learning stressful initially(I find listening to music improves my driving)
I’m not making reckless decisions, but I get overloaded managing everything at once (road position, gears, clutch control, roundabouts, lifesavers, planning ahead, listening to instructor on comms etc). This leads to hesitation, going too slowly or missing things when overwhelmed. I’m also learning in a completely unfamiliar area and usually with another learner who already has road experience which adds pressure.
My instructor is good and talking me through things helps but I feel like I’m constantly riding in survival mode. I handled the slow speed work way better on the 600 than the 125 because the bike felt more stable and required less constant throttle input. It did kind of shoot my confidence not being able to do it on the 125 I really struggled with keeping the revs steady and doing a slalom.
I’d really appreciate advice on drills, learning environments, confidence building, YouTube vids(be the boss of your motorcycle really helped), or anything that would help, also hearing from any adhd or autistic riders that might be able to share some tips. I’m not interested in rushing a test, I want to feel confident and genuinely safe in control of the bike first.
