You Made Your Bed, Now Lie In It.
My stepdaughter came to live with us 6 yrs ago when she was 9 yrs old. Her mom exposed her to A LOT in her first 9 years, unsafe people, unsafe situations, alcohol, drugs, sex, self harm, ect.
For the past 6 years, I've been her mom for all intents and purposes. Bio mom would text my husband twice a year "checking in" (to avoid abandonment charges), would send a small christmas and bday gift to her daughter, and that was the extent of their relationship. No phone calls, no visits, no child support.
Stepdaughter has been struggling mentally for the past 6 years with us, but I'm sure it started far sooner than that. It has progressively gotten worse, despite intervention and therapy, and several inpatient psychiatric stays.
November 2025, bio mom drives 2.5 hrs to "rescue" her daughter from us... at 3 in the morning. So you see, SD was telling her mom my husband and I were abusive. She told her mom we locked her in her room and didn't allow her to go anywhere. She told her mom she was forced to clean the entire house every single day. She told her mom she was forced to raise her brother's while i was out running the streets. She told her mom nothing but straight up bullshit lies. Instead of being an adult and contacting her ex and confronting him with these accusations their daughter was making, or better yet, if she truly believed we were abusive, she could have also called CPS, but no, she drove 2.5hrs one way to remove her daughter from our home at 3:30am.
At first, we fought it. Called and reported her as a runaway, but since she's 15 and willingly went with her mom, police wouldn't do anything. Then we figured, why fight? If mom is ready to finally be a mom and raise her daughter her last couple years of being a minor, who are we to stop her?
Yall..... it hasnt even been a full 6 months and bio mom is BEGGING us to take the SD back. Oh weird, the child you completely abandoned for 6 fucking years doesn't respect you? Oh weird, she watched her mother lie, cheat, and manipulate everyone around her for the first 9 years of her life and now she's a master manipulator that fooled you with her pity party and poor me victim act? LMAOOOOO cry me a fucking river.
