Quality Concerns - Waterbury Metropolitan

Let me start by saying I love this watch. It’s quartz and fairly inexpensive, but it’s easily one of my favorites.

That said, I’m starting to question whether it makes sense to keep it. I’ve had it a little over a month and have probably worn it fewer than ten times. Today I noticed the chronograph hour hand was slightly misaligned, so I reached out to Timex support. Less than an hour later, the misalignment got noticeably worse, and now the hand is basically loose and moving around inside the case.

That’s a bit concerning given how little use it’s seen. Has anyone else with this watch, or others from the same line, run into something similar?

I always wanted a skeleton dial and got this watch for a bargain (sub 200 USD) a few months ago. It didn't get much wrist time because, at least for me, the combination of a busy skeleton dial, the rose gold case, and the (fake?) crocodile leather strap it came with was a bit too much. I think I found a way to dress it down just a bit with this suede strap and I'm loving it.

I got my daughter this watch and she loves it, however, you can tell that due to her small wrists there's a lot of slack on the bracelet. This makes it uncomfortable for her to wear.

Questions:

1- Is there a shorter version of this same bracelet I can buy? Haven't been able to find it yet.

2- If option is not possible, is there a safe way to resize it? These look like folded links attached to one another, they don't have pins. Guess they would have to be cut and then somehow refinish the last link so that it's not rough.

I just received this Addiesdive, which I plan to use as my field watch. I immediately replaced the bracelet with a distressed leather strap and went to set the time, then noticed the seconds hand slightly moving as I move the minutes hand. It bothers me, but also makes me think there's something wrong with the movement. Thoughts?

EDIT: Thanks for educating me, I didn't know this was a thing since my two other automatic watches don't really do it. Glad that I don't have to return this one 😅
