I’ve trimmed down four pieces from my collection. There’s still a Casio G-Shock DW5600E-1V that serves as my outdoor activity watch. I’m now in the wonderful position to add a new watch to complete the box once again.
Thing is, I’ve been window shopping for a month now and just can’t make a decision.
I’ve been eyeing the Proxima PX1697 for a while.
Also thinking about getting an Octopus Kraken diver (probably the BB54, but can’t choose a colour). The vintage diver is really nice, but feels a bit redundant with my T023. I know this brand has some pretty stelar quality, so it’s quite enticing.
Would also love to get an Ix&Dao. The Serica hommage is a contender for sure. The Turtle adjacent JD-X07S is also nice, but not entirely sure about the textured dial. Obviously, the Warrior will be mentioned, but I’m really on the fence about butterfly clasps. Anybody with more hirsute arms have any positive experience with the Warrior?
Am open to suggestions. Let her rip lol
To be clear the dial is the back of the watch. I love art and design and I get that you sometimes have to push the envelope. This is silly though. Right?
We've made a few improvements based on customer feedback:
- Upgraded 20mm–18mm tapered bracelet
- Reduced lateral play for improved comfort
- New on-the-fly micro-adjustment clasp
The bracelet is still made by our original supplier, but with stricter quality requirements.
Our goal is simple: better everyday comfort while keeping the WD1863A affordable and offering great value for money.

But what really stands out about this watch compared to other cheap Chinese brands is how solid it feels… Honestly, it feels like a Longines or something…
I think I paid €150 for this seven or eight months ago, but they cost more like €200 now on sale. But honestly, still a good deal compared to what San Martin and co are charging these days…
New from Steeldive; Seagull ST2130 automatic movement
Been eyeing the WD007 for a little while, and made a move in my career field(commercial roofing) that’s afforded me a pay raise and more hours, so decided to pull the trigger on this as a celebratory occasion! So far, absolutely loving it(only got delivered last night though lol). It’s got the SL3001 movement. Might look into upgrading to the titanium mesh bracelet in the near future just for some variety and to be able to dress it up a little bit.
Did some boredom shopping at Long Island Watch and picked this up for $98. Absolutely love it so far! Swapped in a burgandy two piece nato style to make it more casual for a Sunday. The winding of the movement has a great satisfying click to it. No need to overspend.
Won it back in 2005 on eBay for just around 30 bucks. I haven't serviced it yet but it has been working very well for all these years, no issues at all except one time when a bit of condensation got inside the case somehow but it was quickly solved by just opening the back and put it back again. It was my second automatic after the Invicta 8926 and I think one of the brands that started with the Chinese watch craze. Love it.

Hey so I ordered a couple weeks ago, from sugesswatch.com super excited about my seestern 430 ti professional. What are usual shipping and processing times. I know it’s not Amazon prime but I was hoping to see some form of movement as my order was placed on the 25th of September. Curious what to expect.
Does anybody know the manufacturer's name or the model of the movement used?
Received my EXD SL3001 in titanium today in the mail, and was disappointed to find that it was dead on arrival. I’m no stranger to mechanical watches, and figured it just needed a wind. I gave the crown some turns and lightly tapped on the back. The second hand would run for a few seconds and then stop altogether. Opened up the case back to find a disturbing amount of dust and debris in the movement. I’m used to PT5000 movements, but this is my first Peacock SL3001. I’m not sure if this was just a QC oversight, but I’m very disappointed in the cleanliness of the movement. For what it’s worth, the watch itself is amazing. The AR is fantastic, the titanium is beautifully finished, and the lume blocks are incredibly bright. I reached out to WD to see what assistance they’ll offer, but wanted to post here in case anyone else runs into issues with this specific model. Also not sure what’s going on with the double lug holes in the last pic?
We’ve seen the recent EXD SL3001 QC post and the concerns raised in the comments.
First, we want to be very clear: if a customer receives a Watchdives watch with a genuine manufacturing or QC problem, we will take responsibility for it.
The customer in this case can return the watch to our overseas warehouse, and we will send a brand-new replacement directly from China.
We have also rechecked our current EXD inventory. At this stage, we have not found evidence that this is a widespread issue. However, even one watch arriving with an unacceptable QC problem deserves a serious investigation.
Every EXD SL3001 already goes through checks including:
These are not new checks introduced because of this incident. They are already part of our QC process.
What we are doing now is adding an additional layer of verification and traceability, especially for EXD SL3001 production, so that these checks are performed and recorded even more consistently.
We are also reviewing the assembly and cleanliness process with the factory responsible for this batch.
When this specific watch is returned, we will inspect it carefully to determine exactly what happened and share the conclusion with the community.
If you receive a new EXD with a genuine manufacturing or QC defect, contact us.
If it is our problem, we will take responsibility and solve it properly.
Where replacement is appropriate, the watch can be returned to our overseas warehouse and we will send a brand-new replacement from China.
We know trust is not built by claiming that problems never happen.
It is built by how a company responds when they do.
I bought this by mistake. I hit buy it now before realising there's no date. I never buy watches without dates but the look is fantastic. San Martin makes a GMT version of this but it's either discontinued or out of stock. Please post other watches with black dial and white chapter ring and a date. If anyone knows where I can get the GMT version please let me know. Then I'll move this on to my son.
The case, the lume, the finishing and even the movement punch wayyyyy above the price point! Better value than my Tudor or my Doxa pound for pound, even better value than my Seikos I think. Chinese watches are here to stay
So the 11.11 sale on AliExpress is coming up next month and was curious which Rolex Explorer 1 homage should I get: the Addiesdive AD2023-1 or the Watchdives WD1016? I like the idea of the VH31 mecha-quartz movement (I don't like dealing with regulating automatics, and I like being accurate with my time as much as possible), and I also like how nice/finished these homages are.
Just curious which I should pick up during the 11.11 sale and what's their ideal price roughly when I should jump. Or if y'all have any experience with either and/or alternative suggestions. Not looking to spend more than $80, $90 USD-ish ideally.
