I need an honest opinion please!!

I need an honest opinion please!!

So I own this watch Boddery Voyager since 1 year... I used this with the company's Nato strap!!

Recently I was seeing reels of Omega Seamaster 007 edition and it has a mesh strap.. so for the curiosity I changed the Nato strap with the mesh one...

(PS: I know this is a field watch but I just wanted to try and know the opinion of community...

Please be honest but not disrespectful, Thank you 😊)

First experience with Watchdives

Couldn't justify paying over 1000 for a CWC Diver quartz, and found a $60 WD1980 to have almost every feature (minus the 300M water resistance and other minute details), including 100M WR (still need to test it), applied logo on the crown, and a 120 unidirectional bezel that has a beautiful blue lume.

It wears pretty much to a similar scale and runs on the SAME quartz movement as the real thing. Tough to compete against.

WR is holding so far (through two pool adventures), and so far pretty happy with it despite the seconds hand not aligning perfectly.

Watch Review - Merkur (Dead on Arrival)

Recently I ordered a watch directly from a Domestic Chinese Watchmaker, Merkur. I have been following replica watches but have never really been satisfied, so I decided to go and support a local watchmaker in China instead.

Unfortunately, the watch was dead on arrival. Within ten minutes of winding the watch for the first time, the second hand was frozen and despite the hands having full range of motion while adjusting the time, the watch was dead. I opened the watch to inspect the movement, and when I pulled the stem and removed the movement, nothing was catastrophically broken. Upon reassembly, the watch ticked forward again for about a minute and then became stuck again.

This is understandable, and I am amenable to circumstances that cause watches to die, however what I did not expect was the seller's response. Despite shipping the watch with a Warranty card that states "According to the instructions, MERKUR will be guaranteed free of charge for two years from the date of purchase and in case of watch failure in normal environment." Their only suggestion was to either ship the watch back to them or to take it to a local repair shop myself. Neither of which are free of charge nor worth my time for a $160 watch. I even suggested that they could mail a replacement watch to my hotel when I am in China later this week, but they were not interested in that resolution. Ultimately, I have found this experience completely disappointing. There is better quality and customer service when buying shitter-tier replica watches on telegram/DHGate.

Conclusion: Buyer beware for MERKUR watch, make sure to pay with a refundable payment method if you do decide to make a purchase, but the quality is low and the customer service is unacceptable.

I always love the rainbow flare from white MOP. The finishing is beautiful.

Watchdives WD0019 (V2?) Updated Handset

The day that watchdives announced they were going to update the handset I placed an order for this watch and it just arrived today. First impressions: it's really nice out of the box and the handset, while not 100% match, are close enough in person that it's not distracting or very noticeable at all. It all glows very well, however there is a small drop in duration still with the hands, but not too much. I understand there's only so much they can do given the design of the hands, which I really like.

A lot of positive things have been said about the finishing that I agree with. Mine is also perfectly aligned. The only downside I really have is the bracelet is pretty bad. It's on the level of my Addiesdive AD2548, which was $60. It's jangley, it's squeaky, and it has some gaps and sharp edges. For me, I don't mind as this will live its life as a strap monster 😎

Anyway, I hope this helps anyone on the fence with this watch. I'd say the handset isn't an issue and it's worth it if you like the design and can deal with the bracelet.

Sugess Manual Chrono

I bought a collection of watches recently and this was part of it. Looks to be in really good condition, hardly worn if at all based on the strap. It's a little small for my wrists and maybe too dressy for me.

IDK if this is allowed here but what do you think this is worth secondary? Prices on Aliexpress seem pretty high, but I guess it does have this beautiful movement and see through caseback. Never had anything that looked this nice movement wise - it's impressive!

EDIT - thank you for the help. I'm going to gift this to my pal who got me into watches and excited to suprise him. :)

Proxima PX1697 - A remarkable value?

[Bought this watch on my own without any dealer/manufacture incentive to review.]

Recently got this one, with the PT5000. So far it’s keeping good time and is (in my opinion) really nicely build and finished.

The bracelet was very easy to size with its screw construction and has micro-adjust.

The listing claims 200M water resistance, I find it a bit strange that the case/dial bears no mention of water resistance whatsoever though.

But considering that I paid $170 for it on AliX, I’m kind of blown away! Sapphire crystal, high beat movement, thin profile. I’ll be curious to see how it fares with use.

The sub $200 problem

At what point do Chinese watches actually get *noticeably* better?

I've been buying Addiesdive for a while because the value is honestly insane. For the money, I really don't have many complaints.

But now I'm wondering where to go next.

Everyone always says "just buy a San Martin," but those are pushing $200, and personally I don't really consider $200 a budget watch anymore.

So is there a sweet spot between Addiesdive and San Martin? Like $80–150 where you're actually getting a real bump in quality—not just a different logo?

I'm talking about things like:

Better finishing

Better bracelets/clasps

Better bezel action

Better QC

Better dial and handset finishing

Just an overall more premium feel

Or is Addiesdive basically the king until you're willing to spend close to $200?

Curious what everyone's experience has been after owning multiple brands. Which brands made you think, "Yeah, this is actually worth paying more for," and which ones weren't much of an upgrade?

Not really looking for specs on paper—I want to hear from people who've actually owned them.

San Martin SN0131: Amazing Watch!

Finally was able to get one of these off Ebay, missed it twice in the past year. Amazing finishing and dial, the bracelet is a very unique take on BOR (seen it referred to as chain mail) and the on the fly clasp is always nice. Wish San Martin tried variations with this (dial colors and movement), I think it’s one of the best watches they ever made!

First Look: Two New Thorn T023 Colorways

qThe first samples of two new T023 colorways have just arrived.
We’re still waiting for the upgraded bracelet, so the official launch will have to wait a little longer.
Do either of these catch your eye? Or is there another color you’d love to see us make?
If everything goes as planned, we’ll release them together after July 15.

This is my miltado ML08 in the Sinn homage stainless bracelet with a sweeping VH31 quartz movement. No date. Does it look cheap or nice? I prefer quartz and no date but I was looking for something like a sports watch. A beater that has a little bit of class. And 100m.

I'm not trying to pass or anything. I like the way Sinns look but I also admire the Tudor Ranger, the Rolex Explorer, and the Sinn 556 as well. I think I have around a 7 and 1/2 in wrist. I'm wondering if this looks like it fits. It doesn't need to draw attention. But it also shouldn't look ugly. I got it for around $84 from AliExpress. I know you could get it cheaper. But the bracelets really nice. I feel like people prefer the Murph version of this watch which I think is attractive too. Maybe it's even better. I don't know, What do you think? It feels solid and strong and well put together and it has 100m rating and a sapphire crystal. And it emulates a sweeping hand. Anyway, anybody else running this watch? What do people say about it if they notice it at all?

Proxima watch order process that surprised me. Has it happened to you before?

Recently I ordered a watch from Proxima and I eas pleasantly surprised from the process they followed. They sent pictures of all sides of the watch and a photo of the watch on a time grapher while it being regulated plus a lume shot. I have been wondering whether this has happened to other Proxima watch buyers.
