Are strictlies with a dedicated dance partner out of fashion at this point?

I've noticed that people are kind of randomly choosing friends to compete with at this point. Overheard a follow say she has a list of people to "get through" for future strictlies.

Seems kind of odd - I would've imagined people would take competing relatively seriously and want to work with one person for months to be as aesthetic as possible together.

What's your take on this? Do you just do it as an excuse to dance more with a friend that's not local, or is there any actual "yeah I think we could win this comp together" thoughts going into it?

Signs of attraction?

I'm a social dancer (goes to dance socials where the expectation is purely dance, this is not a club). I'm a pretty decent lead, but I'm not at a level that has follows constantly pouncing on him or anything, and frankly I rarely have conversations with people so I don't have the most connections developed, but I'm nice enough to folks and vice versa.

About 2 months ago this one gal randomly asked me to dance and it was awesome. We danced again that night, and basically have had a cadence of dancing at least twice per social for the last month and a half. We've never had a full blown conversation, but last week I was just sitting by myself and she randomly came up to me with her phone in her hand and showed it to me, showing the Instagram search bar (presumably asking for mine). I sort of fumbled and didn't do anything, making an excuse that I forgot my handle from lack of use. She walked away kind of laughing but also kind of "???".

The same week we happened to see each other at another social and she came up to ask me a question about something going on, and after some brief exchanges she stayed standing close to me to a point where lightly swaying had our arms brush a few times. She never moved away, but also we were in front of a fan cooling off so I'd just assume it was her general comfort with me and not blatant signs of attraction.

But idk, thoughts?

Dance crushes as a beginner vs when more experienced

Title. Feel free to have an open interpretation of dance crush whether ONLY meaning wanting to dance with someone a bunch, or including romantic feelings that come from really high dance chemistry.

Dance crushes - quality and quantity, did you experience them more as a baby dancer falling for all the experienced people, or did you only ever get them when you developed more and starting finding people that just synced up with you in a special way?
