What part is this? 2019 Kia Soul
TLDR: I was wondering what this part is and if I could possibly get it sooner than Tuesday. My engine was just replaced, but now the car isn’t starting and they said it’s because this part also needs replaced and they can’t get it til Tuesday. Seems like a fuse or breaker or something but truthfully I have no clue.
Backstory/Context:
I bought the Kia from Enterprise about 4 years ago. It broke down on the highway over a month ago, and I towed the car to my local shop and the diagnosis was to replace the engine, woo! This thing burns oil like crazy and I’m constantly having to pour more in between oil changes so I’m not necessarily surprised. 118,000 miles for anyone interested.
After weeks of going back and forth between the mechanic and warranty administrator trying to get them to make a determination on the claim, they finally approved the claim a couple weeks ago. I still am on the hook for about $1,100 for spark plugs/ignition coils but I am just glad I don’t have to pay for the whole damn thing.
It took a while to get the replacement engine, but they finally got it in Friday and I was told the car would be ready yesterday so I took off work excited to get it back. Nope, now it’ll be ready today.
It was not ready today either, and they said it will now be ready Tuesday because they found out the car won’t start. They said they just found out this part is the reason (shown in pictures) and it needs replaced. They said it’s an OEM part and will only call me $50 or so but they won’t get it til Tuesday (I am in SoCal for reference)
