My friends 19M and 19F don’t get along, I’m not sure how I 19F can get them to.
Friends are difficult
I feel like I don’t have a real third party that I can discuss this with irl, so I’ve turned to Reddit.
Me and my two friends are 19, we go out to drink a couple times a week to bars around nearby cities. We have been friends for a few years.
It feels like every night there is a fight between them about something. My one friend 19F does not trust my friend 19M and says that he would let us get raped/murdered if push came to shove. She has her own views on him which some I agree with but others I disagree with.
My friend 19M gets annoyed with the way 19F acts, he doesn’t like that she talks to dudes and gets them to buy us drinks, give her money etc, because she usually freaks out by the end of the night when they try something weird like following us home. He thinks she deserves this behaviour if she gets money from them.
A big issue between the two is the fact that at some point in the friendship he paid money to have sex with her when she was in desperate need. I think this is insane and definitely something that probably affects the relationship.
It is rarer for us to come out of a night of drinking with no fighting, I always feel like the middle man for everyone to express their own feelings and I feel like I am not the right person to try and excuse either persons activity as I am just trying to have a fun relaxing night.
So what advice does anyone have? Is this relationship something similar to one in your own lives? How do you navigate it? Is it worth it to try and keep this friendship together or is it bound to fall apart? Thank you for any and all answers.
