Last month I spent 3 days scalping my back yard and dethatching/scarifing on the lowest setting. My wife was not optimistic said there’s no way this will work. Well after a few hundred dollars later in fertilizer and seed I can finally say I WAS RIGHT!! We did get lucky with a lot of rain last month in the Kansas City area, so now just gotta keep it going. I’m pretty happy with this turn around, still working on getting the weeds and a few bare spots.
