Wrapping things two weeks post-op.

Wrapping things two weeks post-op.

In order to avoid ANY chance of infection/site tearing, I have been wearing a gauze sheath on the shaft, to prevent abrasion/movement/contact with anything that might screw the healing up.

I change it three times a day, each time cleaning and applying Neosporin to the cut (I use band-aid antiseptic cleaning fluid to wash the area.)

Swelling is 90% down from the day that the shang ring was removed - although the site is still tender. I can touch it after washing my hands, but I'm not keen to put any pressure on it. for another week.

Free at last, free at last!

Shang ring was removed today, after 12 days.

Still have (donut) swelling - but the doc said it was normal and will take about 72 hours to return to near-normal.

I am absolutely astounded by how clean the cut line is - no scabbing, etc. I can tell that the new skin growing there is still VERY thin. Not gonna tempt fate by indulging in erections - but if they DO occur, at least the ring is gone, so they won't be painful/constricting. I'll just pull my knees up, if such occurs...

Overall, I can say that the entire experience was FAR less crazy than I imagined it would be. I understand I was VERY lucky in this, and let me tell you: I couldn't be more grateful.

Once the swelling has reduced down the point that things look more or less back to normal, I'll post a pic.

Okay- NOW the pain arrives (day ten.)

For the first nine days things were fine, with just a bit of discomfort, swelling, and the occasional nighttime erection causing panic in the dead of the night...

But today, I sat down in my office chair the same way I have ten thousand times before, and YEOWCH!

I looked it up, and apparently, this is an initial sign of the tissue re-building and nerves growing along the circumference of the cut - the body's way of saying "under construction - do not touch!"

I have a feeling at itching will eventually enter the equation - not looking forward to that...

The only real annoyance so far...

Is nine days of 100% hands off (not just masturbation - just touching is a no-no.) Also the sense of constriction, and fear of any tension/erection tearing the site.

Wish I could just sleep for a week, wake up, and be done with it...

A week in.

1 - Thanks for the recommendation for the Sudafed to keep nighttime erections at bay! I take about 40 MG halfway through the night (as this issue only tends to hit me, in the morning.)

2 - I still find myself walking over a mile every day, with little discomfort. I'm aware that things are "different" down there, but every time I go out, I wrap the area in several layers of gauze, to cushioning.

3 - Aftercare is VERY important. When I left the office, the doctor (as I expected) simply said "Just don't masturbate for a few weeks." I am glad that in the week leading up to the operation, I stocked up on OTC painkillers, gauze, etc.

4 - I appear to be VERY lucky. This is still a hell of a lot easier than I thought it would be. Honestly - after lurking here for so long, I was expecting everything from immediate suture splits, to infections. So far, it's like any other minor surgery I've had.

5 - I never thought so many people would want to see post-op surgery pics. I get a lot of that in private messages, here. While I am flattered, I think that is inappropriate.

I'll post a pic, when things are healed - figure 2-3 weeks.

Padded the area with 2 layers of gauze, took pain meds.

Walked two miles, and took a two-hour ferry ride to pick up some hard drives from a client (I'm self-employed.) Ibuprofen & THC edibles wore off halfway back, so I took a rideshare home.

So far, so good - FAR less drama than I expected. Hell - I expected to be not able to walk further than the bathroom for a week.

The strangest thing: Maybe it's because of the nature of the high cut, but I don't feel like I "lost" anything in the process.

However: I do know that as things heal, there WILL eventually be serious pain.

My biggest fear is unwanted erections at night, while I am asleep. ANY ADVICE ON AVOIDING THESE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

After years of thinking about this, and retracting my foreskin - I am going through with it.

I will be getting a high cut, with skin removed only from the shaft, leaving my frenulum & inner foreskin.

Procedure is via shang ring.

The only thing I fear is the inability to wank, for over two weeks.

WIll edit this post, after the procedure- WISH ME LUCK!

EDIT: Strangely enough - with the local anesthetic - the most uncomfortable thing was knowing two people were looking at & and examining my penis intently.

There's a bit of pain, but considering that I literally got 1.5 inch ring of skin removed from the shaft of my penis - not bad.

I think tonight's sleep will be a tough one- but such is life. I asked for some pain meds, but I got the typical US doctor response of "You'll be fine- just don't masturbate for a month" bullshit.

Thankfully, earlier today I stocked up on ibuprofen and THC edibles. along with Neosporin and gauze. I'll stick around to see if anyone has any questions and play Rimworld for a bit.

Overall, experience was 8.5 out of 10, considering all the fretting and fussing I've done in my mind for all of those years. Glad it's all over.

Hey, all- been lurking for a while - and finally got the courage up to bring this up, here...

I am 30 and heterosexual, although it's literally been years since I got laid (not because of anything wrong with my penis - more to do with me being on the autistic spectrum, and having a hard time communicating.)

I never had a problem being uncut - either aesthetically, mentally or physically. Never had phimosis, or balanitis.

But - for a few years now, I have had a rising inclination to get circumcised, and I don't know why.

Maybe it's because I have a desire for something different - maybe it's because there's a part of me that thinks it looks more "modern."

I am wondering if anyone else here has experienced anything similar - or I am just mentally ill...
