Portable AC running with ceiling fan caused the outlets and lights along that connection to stop working. Suddenly they are working again. Is it safe for me to use the outlets at leas to charge my phone and run a small fan?

My air conditioner isn't working and we're in a heat wave so I got a portable one. It said it was 115 V and the outlet I had plugged it into was on the breaker switch that said "15" on it the 120/240 V AC/CA. It worked like normal for about an hour and then suddenly I heard the ceiling fan and the AC turned off. But other outlets in the house and lights were fine. Every outlet and light along that switch went out. I took a nap and suddenly the outlets are working again. I cannot afford to get an electrician and have someone fix my AC right now so we're focusing on my central AC but I wanted to make sure is it safe for me to continue using the outlets. , I'm not plugging the portable AC in right now because I'm scared it'll happen again. I don’t even understand why it happened in the first place.

Also when they went out, none of the switches on the breaker looked tripped. I still flipped that switch to off and water a few seconds before turning it to on, but nothing happened. I left it in the on position and took a nap and woke up and noticed I could turn on a light I couldn't before. I'm scared because I'm in school and have pets and I want to keep them safe.
