Is there another way to handle and manipulate string heddle rods/dowels? Ideally there’d be a way to rest the dowel on top of the edge of the frame — kind of like how with a rigid heddle loom, the heddle dents rest in the up/neutral/down position? I’ve mostly seen weavers hold up the string heddle rod with one hand while using their other hand to pass their shuttle stick through. I’m imagining some kind of clamp that i could clamp to the edges of my frame and use as a prop to hold the string heddle rod…but I was curious to see if someone else had already solved for this!

I did see this youtube video with a fancy patented tapestry heddle rod turning system, and it looks awesome — I just don’t have the woodworking know how to emulate it.

I rarely get to attend mass so I like to try and read through the daily mass readings as a way of keeping up with the liturgical seasons. I used to be subscribed to Magnificat! It was okay. I ended up not renewing after the year was through because I wanted to see if there were other options. I felt there was definitely a conservative pov with the intentions that were included in their daily prayers, and as much as I enjoy classic Catholic artwork...I got kind tired of the endless front page covers of European Renaissance/Medieval Mother Mary.

Enter - Give Us This Day! I love the front cover artwork, the reflections, their prison outreach ministry, the profiles on saints and seculars who've improved the lives of others. All of it. Again, it's not like I didn't enjoy Magnificat haha - I'm just finding that I'm really really enjoying Give Us This Day and I feel like Magnificat is the default for some, so I wanted to share my experience with an alternative!
