For some reason, I thought the chorus was “just like the Pied Piper, lead rats rule the streets…” instead of “led rats through the streets”. I guess I ignored that he just said “pied piper” and I imagined metal ROUS’s had taken over.

As a kid, I thought the line "sparks fly from her fingertips" was "sparks fly from a thing that tips". I guess I was imagining this witchy woman in some kind of scientist's lab with a device like the "drinking bird" heat engine toy I had at the time.
