Bike is in Troutdale OR. Should I start a replacement order now?

So I ordered my new Vanpowers Grand Teton Pro bike on Sunday. Shipping ETA was for today, but last night at 2am, the Fedx tracking shows it getting to Troutdale OR and there is an "exception" flag on it. I showed the tracking to my son and both he and his wife groaned. They said it might show up in time for xmas if I'm lucky. Apparently Troutdale is the Bermuda Triangle of shipping.

New bike shopper, looking for advice

So I have a place in the Pacific NW (USA) and there are hundreds of miles of mountain logging roads around here. I don't get out enough and wanted to go explore the area more. You know, touch some grass and get my bum off the computer.

I was looking at a bunch of dual motor fat tire bikes, with loads of power and very high potential riding range, but I'm getting concerned that the weight of these monster bikes are going to be a problem. I'm 60 now and not as athletic as I once was.

The other thing I don't want is a bike that does all the work. Seems like all the dual motor ones don't use torque assist. Is torque assist just a mid drive feature?

I have no idea how much I'm going to get hooked on this, so I also don't want to spend thousands, so I'd love to shoot for something under $2k USD.

The logging roads are generally not super steep. The older ones have a lot of loose rock and patches of loose sandy dirt, while the new roads are in good shape with a decent gravel surface.

Also I'm 6'1 and 185lbs, so I'd guess that will fit with most eMTB specs. Hopefully get back to 170lbs after I start riding again!

Investing in Gold - What are your strategies?

I'm curious what ways people invest in gold and why. I've never done it, but it's something I've been curious about. Also how safe are digital gold assets in the event of a catastrophic economy crash? For instance, when you have cash in savings at a bank and all the banks start failing, to the point where the government can't insure your funds?

(not financial advice, but interest in market mechanics)
