Looking for ideas switching from Ned Stark to adventurer Jon Snow

Hey y’all, i’ve started to finally play as a stark/ned for the first time and stopped right as Aegon invades. Viserys also has 3 dragons (what’s up with him sacrificing Daenerys in ALL my recent games btw?) and I assume that if Bobby is still on the throne when Jon is exposed to be a targ he won’t just let him be so my plan is to fire the event where i find the dragon egg and then make him an adventurer and scurry off to essos to avoid bobby’s fury and/or aegon/viserys.

AFAIK, Viserys can only tame one dragon so maybe part of me adventuring as Jon in essos is finding and taming that dragon and eventually coming back to reclaim the seven kingdoms.

I’m also considering of “sending” some people (jory cassel? rickon? Random people with good stats that i “trust”?) with Jon and possibly marrying him off before he’s sent away as getting a good marriage as an adventurer is quite difficult and I hope to take my time adventurin. I do also plan on removing his bastard trait as well if it doesn’t automatically get removed.

Just wondering if there’s anything in particularly that people have tried out and/or recommend that can help me build on my current plans/give me some ideas, thanks!

The Most Saintly Life of Lord Petyr

Image Descriptions:

  1. First ever meme attempt i think, sorry
  2. Shoutout to the legend seed popping up about a year or two before he died for the post title. 109 kills (and countless abductions, hooks etc.)
  3. My firstborn from Daenarys, married to a Baratheon Queen, was the only person to have his AI suggest naming their child (first, only and heir to iron throne) after me :'), his mom was an idiot who died by eating poisonous plants so no brothers but here's King Petyr Baelish in the flesh.
  4. After death, my firstborn son who was married to Margary Tyrell (whom I had to murder as she was about to revolt against King Petyr) now controls the Fingers and Cut lordships (petty kingdoms) from humble Midlor Point. A Baelish (dare I say Vaelish) controls the Vale.
  5. Lady Redwyne's kids are all Baelishes
  6. Lady Hightower's kids are all Baelishes
  7. Lord Paramount Baelish of the Westerlands prematurely inherited Casterly Rock after Lancel, stupid as him name, died/got abducted returning from my feast by some damn vale clansmen.
  8. Lord Eddard Stark (Robb's Son) holds the Riverlands and the North, his daughter is betrothed to King Petyr (helped stabilize the realm) and his kids are of course all Baelishes
  9. The heir to the Stormlands is betrothed to a Baelish of course and she's safe (abducted) in The Fingers to make sure the Betrothal goes through without any problems. Her 15 year old brother holds the titles and while my current character turned out quite decent and is diplo focused, his spymaster is more than capable of hiring a faceless man
  10. The heir to Dragonstone is the firstborn son of the 2nd son from Daenarys (not sure why it says queen and allows her to wear a crown, might be submod conflict)
  11. Heir to Dorne is betrothed to a Baelish and is also safe (abducted) in The fingers, her father is more than welcome to have more kids, Dorne has gender equal primogeniture inheritance law.
  12. I conquered Lys for Aurane Waters whose heir is matrilineally betrothed to a Baelish but tbh i don't even care if it becomes regular because I love me a cool bastard cadet branch especially if it's of Velaryon descent. Aurane himself died shortly after he became the head of Lys in some random way (possibly murdered by AI)
  13. Seven Kingdoms overview, Iron Islands ignored of course.
  14. shitpost meme i found of the line from Baelish that inspired this playthrough

Shoutout to the random reddit user who replied to a post/comment sometime ago about Petyr Baelish being a fun playthrough candidate.

"Cheats" Used:

- Bypass Requirements to prematurely form a cadet branch

- House Customizer to get switch back to Baelish dynasty twice when AI chose the "Dynastic Stability" option

- I had both Daenarys and Viserys kidnapped and their camp had 0 followers but there was no way for me to recruit them or destroy their title because he was landed and she was his heir so I used debug to destroy the title, sent him to the night's watch and after she became an adult I divorced my wife and arranged an introduction to her which worked out surprisingly well.

- I would occasionally switch characters to arrange marriages for my grandkids as when I did them via Petyr they wouldn't result in alliances.

As dumb as his name: Abducted him, married him to my daughter, befriended him, married his daughter to the heir of the reach (also my grandson), spent YEARS fighting Tyrion to get him casterly rock and he dies one year later from clansmen

Is there anything more Stannis than defending in a war AGAINST people who are trying to push your own claim?

What’s the most amount of land a house directly controlled and how to more accurately portray land/people management into our gameplay?

So when playing out my games, obviously i try to control as much land as possible, if not for the gold, at least to station units. I did however notice that very few houses directly control more than one province.

Take house Rowan for example, a very rich, old and powerful house that has a petty kingdom level title in most starts, but they still directly hold only one castle.
Yes they have kingdom, duchy and county level titles, but even in their county they only hold their castle. The rowans do have a cadet branch that also own their county.

The Tyrells and Baratheons iirc also have only one directly controlled castle. Yes, both are lord paramounts and have empire tier titles, but it’s 1 empire tier title, the main/de jure kingdom level title under, the main/de jure county level title and the capital of that county (Storm’s End and High Garden).

Of course after Robert’s Rebellion, each Baratheon kid had their own castle, but that’s an outlier i believe.

Despite some houses being very strong, rich, prominent and populace in some cases. They seem to rarely have more than castle.

How can this somewhat accurately be portrayed in our gameplay? Is it possible to in the future have multiple units stationed in one castle? For example, you can station your heavy infantry/spearmen in your barracks once it’s upgraded past level 3, light/heavy cavalry in stables past 3, archers/skirmishers in outposts past 3rd upgrade etc. etc.

I know there’s a vanilla CK3 submod that adds feudal domiciles where you can build up your castle (which i don’t think works with agot). Perhaps upgraded castle levels can have more slots and stuff like blacksmiths, workshops, watermills, forts etc. become part of the domicile building slots while stables, farms, pastures, militia camps, outposts, mines etc. remain as part of the province building.

I know that there’s already additional expanded court positions based on title, maybe there can also be additional court positions based on castle/domicile level? Or some additional emphasis on court positions because in ASOIAD canon, some court positions (master at arms, maester, steward etc.) seem to hold more prestige than in the game but that might be just my own flawed perspective.

I know some things i’m talking about will be difficult to implement while others may have submods that do the same (pls do share) and i think some features are also being developed by paradox themselves, but i’m just curious of what a more “accurate” way of playing the game could look like when it comes to direct land and people management.

Which canon starting character is the chaddest of the chads?

Lord Gregor is apparently just the goat and starts with a valyrian steel sword as well. His kids don't have any physical traits, but all of them start with personality traits.

Nestor's first born has robust along with probably the best sigil in the game.

Lord Bronze is absolutely balling and that 42 prowess is without even a sword equipped IIRC, his first born has hale, 2nd born son has hale, comely and shrewd?? and his 3rd born son waymar is handsome and shrewd. If there was ever a really cool and 'easy' mode start, this is it.

What other Lords are absolute ballers to start with? Rodrik the Reader Harlaw is also really cool with his intelligent trait and great duchy.

Edit: preferably duchy/county level chads and chadettes

I'm 49 and just got cucked by my Zealous Paragon vassal. Who should I remarry if at all?

Screenshots of my vassal and wife because their traits make them seem like the least likely to elope and runaway which just makes it funnier since this is the first time i believe this has happened to me.

The 4 options:

- Tyene Sand, good stats and prestige, weak af alliance (barony of 300ish soldiers) but if I just want a decent wife to grow old with she's good and i always like how unique she looks as a character.

- Maenylla Blackfyre, weak alliance, decent prestige but is a targ and a blackfyre, if I want to incorporate some targ blood or just want "coolest" option, it's her but... that 35 year age gap tho...

- Garra Stark, the best alliance by far, daughter of the Heir to the Lord Paramount pf the North and this is a House Mudd playthrough where I plan on becoming independent king of the rivers and hills so also makes sense since we are both tree huggers. she's literally the younger sister of my heir's wife and 36 year age gap...

- Don't remarry at all, I already have my eldest daughter who is matrilineally married and has some great kids, my son and heir is a beast, my 2 other daughters have good marriages and i have a 4 year old son who can be citadeled or married as off as well so it's not like I need to marry for kids or alliances. Just chill being single and maybe remarry later with another options who becomes available later.

By the way, he's definitely getting executed and his lands revoked, I'll make the unformed Lakeleaf Highlands my 2nd duchy and keep my 2nd wife and mother of my last 2 kids in house arrest probably forever.

I was playing around trying to see what would be the best way to a form a new religion when i started looking at empty holy sites and realized that if you own a province (tested on castle and temple) that doesn't have a special building but is a holy site for your faith, then you can build this cool special building. This might be from the Legends DLC (which I very highly recommend) but I'm not sure.

I also learned today that you can use shift click as shortcut when choosing your next destination while traveling which is unrelated to this but saved me a shit ton of time lol.

If anyone knows a way/mod that allows me to choose my own holy site when creating/reforming a new religion (without editing save file) please do share!

To clarify, I do have some submods, but this screenshot has nothing to do with them, Shattered Realms is a start available in base AGOT so I didn't want any confusion.

I think a lot of people are unaware of this option that is easily available in the settings (there are also other options such as counties only, kingdoms, etc. but these two are the most interesting imo).

There are a lot of interesting situations in both starts. i.e. some realms are stronger/weaker depending on the start chosen and there are some fragmented titles based on a few factors:

  • Tullys own the south eastern part of the riverlands and riverrun in duchies option
  • the claw falling under king's landing in duchies option
  • Rowans and Tyrells are both stronger in duchies start than in kingdoms due to not only the land they own, but also the relative strength of those around them
  • Duskwashes, Westmarch, Barrows and Rills, Mountains of the Moon and some other petty kingdoms are usually not found in most starts if any but are quite strong in petty kingdoms start
  • Some duchies are the same size as their petty kingdoms such as The Neck, Flints/Cape Kraken and Atranta
  • There are no alliances in the beginning which somewhat makes sense, but is a bit annoying as well because that means unmarried leaders have an inherit advantage over married ones.

Regardless of realm size, some houses will be very strong due to their development/special buildings (looking at you Hightowers).

I think this is a really cool way to play as either a strong house who wants to expand without the confines of being under the Iron Throne and fight against other strong houses, or just a small-medium house looking to fight their way to greatness.

Personally I would like to see a version of shattered realm that is more fine tuned. Essos Free cities owning their direct kingdoms, but stuff like the stepstones, sambaro, andalos, star hills etc all being duchy/county level. The major houses like Hightower, Martells, Tyrells, Starks, Baratheon, Manderlys etc. holding their Kingdom titles with some vassals, but other houses being undeclared counties/duchies. So for example in the Reach, Old Town would be kingdom tier but with just Oldtown, Honeylands and Whisper point duchies while Black Sound and Brightwater are independed duchies. Highgarden owning the mander lands for the most part, but tumbleton, bitterbridge, cockleswent and the westmarch wouldn't be petty kingdoms, just independent duchies and counties based on historical power/accuracy of the houses in them. Similarly in the westerlands The Rock would exist, but Deep Den wouldn't rival them in size.

I think for the aforementioned a war of the five kings-ish date would make more sense, but in general, I find that Shattered Realm starts make most sense either in The Crowned Stag or after the spring sickness since loyalty to the Iron Throne and its strength both seem subpar.

Sorry for the long post but Shattered Realms is just such a cool concept and I wonder what people's thoughts are about what the realm could like to be relatively accurate in terms of house strength but still dynamic enough for houses like the Yronwoods, Daynes, Goodbrothers, Blackwoods, Royces, Glovers, Rowans etc. to be able to be independent from the Iron Throne and not immediately get conquered by a vastly superior neighbor/lord paramount

Gave it away to a random person of my culture and made up a quick sigil for them as the forest guards and called them, you guessed it, House Forrest lol. Overtime I used console commands to reduce the development and the only buildings that increase development are the hunting grounds which is just +2% per month and the Royal Reseves building which counterintuitively (imo) has +30% development growth. I feel like it should have negative development growth but oh well.

I also initially removed the holdings in the provinces which were all barren city holdings.

Just when I was ready to end my time in this save/world that started a couple of centuries ago, first as a house gardener resurrection run, then as a house blackwood adventurer whose father was bloodraven, then as house royce to lord paramounts of the vale and finally as a house salt to hoare resurrection to lord paramounts of iron islands, I find this random blackfyre county chilling in Essos. *insert they pull me back in gif*

Blackfyres didn't rebel a single time in this playthrough for some reason, despite having been adventurers as The Blackfyre Host for a while. I guess eventually they settled/invaded a county and are quite weak. I've just finished conquering Tyrosh after already settling the undisputed lands and will probably look to have all of Essos under me at some point.

I quite enjoy house hopping once I feel like i've done all I want/am interested in with a certain house. Usually as I'm playing something catches my eye and i'll maybe even marry into them if it makes sense (my Blackwood cadet branch had a good relationship with the Royces before I switched to them).

I'm just wondering if other people do this as well or just stick with one house and start an entirely new save if they're done with the dynasty/house.

The one thing that can be annoying is that some areas can already be very developed in a way that I wouldn't have done it or some lords already being way too strong/rich.
