Bit of an odd (but thankfully fixable) bug.

I took over the Iron Throne as Tommen after Joffrey got himself assassinated. At that point, Renly and his two kids had been killed by Joffrey, who now owned the Stormlands.

As Tommen, I figured it would be a good idea to legitimize Edric Storm and give him the title. Which I did, but he kept the Storm surname.

I looked up on this subreddit and I found a couple of older threads where people said the bastard surname didn't go away. And I tried the suggestions I found, even did the basic thing of just restarting the game. Nothing worked.

And it's not the first time this happened. I actually noticed it before. Directly legitimizing someone as king seems to keep the bastard surname in place.

Thankfully, I can also suggest a fix.

Shireen was leading an adventurer camp and she was the official head of House Baratheon. So, I gave Edric the bastard trait back and had Shireen legitimize him directly. That worked, he's now Edric Baratheon.

I'm not exactly sure what the game thinks it's going wrong when the king legitimizes someone unprompted, but... Well, at least it's fixable.

I've recently gotten into the GOT universe, ive yet to watch the main series but i've watched Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and i'm watching House of the Dragon, and ive been really wanting to play in westeros but I just cannot find anything to do.

I've tried playing as house Rowan with the goal of taking over the Reach but even when I manage to get a claim on the throne, theres an unstoppable loyalist faction preventing me from doing anything about it. Except perhaps trying to murder all 15 people between the lord paramount and myself but i'll be dead before i can do that.

I tried playing as the Maiden of the Vale but then again, what to do, just live my life and do a bunch of activities ? There's no threat to my rule despite what the story says about Arnold trying to revolt, because he never ever does.

Been thinking maybe trying to play even smaller lords, I saw a bunch of Elden Ring easter eggs houses that could be fun to start as, but then again, is it even really possible to rise to be relevant at all ? It feels like any house not lord of one of the kingdoms or in the crownlands has little to no ability to ever have a position in court, even though that seems to be quite common in the stories (Hightowers, Strongs etc.) let alone get anything like a valyrian steel or a dragon egg.

What I'm really asking for here is if anyone knows any interesting or fun start that could make for at least even a small playthrough, and that does not consider into either 1. Conquering something at start and then doing nothing forever, or 2. Just waiting until something happens forever.

Maybe it's just me and I don't quite get the point of how the mod's meant to be played but I'd rlly like to play it and enjoy it because it looks so fun and so polished and its such a fascinating world.

I do play with the AGOT+ submod, i don't know if maybe i'm supposed to have others for the game to maybe feel more alive, I'll gladly take any suggestion to make my experience with this mod enjoyable.

what canon system is better in the game for children, the base AGOT system or the AGOT+ system? I ask this also for canon dragons and the canon bonding to their rider

Hi everyone, Playing this wonderful mod and I started having the issue where the indicator explaining how to continue the canon character line is now missing. However, the feature is indeed working! I just don't have that sweet sweet explanation how to make it happen anymore currently. Would anyone have any ideas? I haven't found any sort of conflicts and I checked rules but I am sure I am missing something

Doing my first real playthrough with Ironborn now that I finally figured out how to raid and holy shit this is fun. I started as landless and now hold all of the iron islands with Pyke as my capital within 5 generations. Consecrated my lineage as well. Raiding Lys has been a huge money maker for me, usually bring home 2k a raid plus prisoners. I started at the Ageons conquest bookmark figuring house Hoare would give me more area to move without the kings expelling me.

For those that don't know, Marei is Tywin's secret bastard daughter.

The issue is... her mom's dead, Tywin doesn't know the secret, none of his siblings know it, neither Jaime nor Cersei do... I fear this is a dead end, isn't it?

I even checked all the characters in the county Marei lives in and no luck.

Is there anyone on the map that somehow knows who she is? I happened to end up with two of Robert's bastards at my court and at this point I figure I might as well just start collecting strays. But I've no idea how to approach Marei's situation.

So I noticed on another sub’s thread that I’m not the only one that’s adopted Emperor Aurion’s last name being Varezys and actually pointed out that’s just from the game and nowhere else.

That got me thinking;

Of the additions, creations and lore/canon changes that the base mod has within it what are you guys’ favourites?

I really wish when a reforging Valyrian steel sword that you had the ability to provide or add a new bio to. That way you could can tie it to your house or when you provide your own lore on how you won it in battle or something.
