I’m so f***ing sick of this industry sometimes. Why do some clients act like paying you is a charity donation and not an exchange for actual skills?

The math ain't mathing: You asked for my portfolio, you looked at my work, and then you hit me with the "do a free trial" BS? Bro, BFFR.

If my edits didn't pass the vibe check, just don't reply. Ghost me! I prefer that. But if you think I'm a good fit, my portfolio is the proof. The only "trial" we should be doing is customizing the template and dialing in the video style on the first paid project.

Stop treating freelancers like free sample stands. Anyone else dealing with this level of audacity lately? 💀

High ticket clients

Everyone says you gotta find a "high-ticket" client to secure the bag, but honestly? It feels like all video editing clients are literally the same flavor of delulu. They constantly lowball you, act like you're completely replaceable, and refuse to pay up even when you're bringing them actual results

Case in point: last week I was talking to this webinar bro who claims he’s made over $50M. He runs a whole community and promotes an Amazon ebook on his IG. I whipped up a sample edit for him, which he absolutely loved. But then this man deadass offered me $800 a month for 5 reels a day. 💀

To top it off, he tried to flex by saying I was in a "competition" with like 100 other editors. I hit him with the swiftest respectfully, no and walked away

I really think we all gotta start reacting like this. If you’re carrying someone else's business and letting them undervalue you, you're literally playing yourself
