Do you think the team is leaning heavily into a win-now mentality too early?
Don’t get me wrong, it’s only 3 games in and I obviously want us to win. We’ve been losing for a while now, so I get the urgency. But with a first-year coach and a pretty new group, I kind of expected the early stretch to be more about building a foundation on both ends instead of going all in on immediate results. Defensively it’s been rough, what are they doing in practice? Jose got out coached last night and said there’s “selfishness” in the locker room and guys are more focused on stats and mins than winning. I get the message, but It’s too early to put that out there publicly. At the end of the day, it’s also on the coach to set structure and roles, which he hasn’t done 3 games in. The vets are making mistakes while being left on the court and others pulled too early. But with a win now, I’m curious with how young talent like Maddy, Za, Awak, and Azzi development fits into that timeline. Because these two things can rarely coexist to me
