An interesting crossover between malayalam and tamil. Please pay attention to the tamil rap part !
A different take on the slower paced folk oriented malayalam song and the tamizh rap and the subsequent tamizh lyrics gives it a different feel.

I am partial to include pathu veluppinu by Raveendran maashu from vengalam, stunning composition in aabheri. Also think dwadashiyil by vidhyasagar sir from madhuranomnarakkaatu is brilliant work in Hindolam. Talking about hindolam, ente sindhoorarekhayil by sharreth sir is genius because of it's clever use of anyaswaram. Kannuneerthulliye sthreeyodu by MSV is another gem of a composition. Sooryakireedam by MG Radhakrishnan. Parayan maranna (jog) by Ramesh Narayanan. Devaanganangal by Johnson maashu. Shraavana chandrika by devaraajan maashu. These are few of my top contenders (personal favourites). Please help me curate a list that includes songs that are not just melodious but also genius in the nature of the composition.
So, I am new to classical music and am just learning basics. My doubt is that Thodi ragam has lower ga. But when singing aarohanam and avarohanam, we say ga but the gamakam is ri and ma and does not have ga at all. Similarly kaanada also. During aarohanam, we say ga but actually sing ma ri ma ri in the gamaka.
So why do we say one swaram but sing another ? Also, technically, in the aarohana avarohana, there is no Ga at all then. Then where exactly do we sing the Ga of these ragas?? Please forgive me if I am making a mistake here, I am a novice, and I am genuinely confused. I would appreciate an insight into this. Kindly help me comprehend this concept.
I want music enthusiasts to comment on this. In tamil music landscape, the big names are not two but 3. We have MSV sir, Raja sir and Rahman sir. All three are absolute legends in their own right. Shouldn't we celebrate all three names as the musicians who defined their respective generations and stop with these comparisons ? Why is the current generation overlooking MSV? It feels like blasphemy to me. Also, can someone help share a playlist of MSV gems for newer listeners to get started on the brilliance of MSV?
I have a PhD in molecular oncology and am looking to secure a postdoctoral position in the United States. I am looking for insights into writing a good Motivation Letter. Also looking for ATS friendly CV templates that are favoured in the United States. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
