toothache but all xrays show nothing wrong. at a loss😞
So some backstory (this is a long one sorry)
Early Feb of this year I had a filling done in-between my bottom right first molar. I went back a week later to get it adjusted as it was causing sharp pain when biting. And pain when flossing. It felt fine for a week or two and then it started aching every now and then; with a lot of cold sensitivity present (didnt linger tho). I had to go to the dentist again anyway to get another filling, so I brought it up, and everything looked fine. I figured it was just taking a while to settle, so I gave it more time.
Forward to May. Within this time, I’ve gone to another dentist and then BACK to my OG one. Also within this time it was still aching. sensitive to cold and slightly to hot. And now throbbing on and off. Sore when chewing firmer foods like chicken or onion etc. At one point pain was radiating to other teeth. Both have taken x-rays and nothings wrong. No active decay, no fracture. The filling itself wasn’t deep, so it wasn’t close to the nerve. Didn’t see any other problems for the teeth next to my first molar. I’ve had the filling adjusted again. Told it could just be my bruxism or tmj and wisdom tooth that hasn’t come out. Both did tests on my teeth, slight pain when tapping but nothing extreme, didn’t have a big reaction to a cold test either. Told to use mouth guard and sensodyne.
It is now two weeks after the last x-ray and within the last few days the pain has gotten much worse. Constantly throbbing. Lowkey a burning pain? Idk how to describe it. I feel it as soon as I wake up, and it’s hard to fall asleep. I feel it radiating to my other teeth, jaw, neck, head. Funnily enough, cold sensitivity isn’t that bad anymore. Pain meds aren’t touching the pain.
Im kinda just at a loss of what i should do? Im thinking of seeing another dentist and get a THIRD opinion. Or do i tough it out? Maybe it’s just taking a while to settle? If there’s nothing wrong on X-ray, am I just overreacting???? am i doing something wrong???
Honestly my finances have been stretched real thin this year, with dental, life, and other health complications that I now need to see a specialist for (possible autoimmune, SLE/Sjorgens). So I just don’t have the finances for root canal AND crown (if it comes down to that)
I’m not opposed to extraction (I know thats not ideal😞). I have two missing molars on my left side which i cant get a partial for bc theres nothing to anchor onto. So if I potentially need to extract this tooth; at least it’ll increase my chances of getting one (right???) (i rlly dont know but if that is the case, at least it gives me a lot more time to maybe save for implants)
so embarrased n ashamed abt my teeth honestly. I do try hard to have good oral hygiene (floss, tongue scrape, brush n dont rinse etc etc) and my diet, but things still be going to shit😞 thats life ig

Edit: add TLDR: bottom molar filling in feb, tooth hasnt settled since. multiple dentists, multiple xrays show nothing wrong. ache and throb has progressively gotten worse. main diet has been panadol and ibuprofen (jk). might just grab the pliers myself (also jk)
