Am I totally SOL? I'm locked out of my garage
Hi,
I recently bought a new house and was trying to change the keypad lock code from the prior owner. I have a liftmaster (but don't know the model number). The instructions on the keypad said to press the learn button (which is purple), but I ended up pressing and holding it for too long apparently, and I believe it reset the system as now neither the garage door remote, nor the keypad (with either the old code or my attempted new code) work.
To make matters worse, there is no entry to the garage from inside the house, and the garage door itself does not have any manual key access on the outside despite they’re being the red string attached to the motor on the inside of the garage. There is a handle at the base of the garage door, but it does not lift up the door when I pull on it.
There was a temporary power outage where I live, but I’m fairly certain that didn’t do anything, since I still see light on the keypad when I try and type in codes.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated; for example, if there’s a manufacturer default code that I can use since the system is in a reset state. Or am I SOL and need to call a garage door specialist?
