My launch Xperia 1 VII (XQ-FS54) suddenly died yesterday
Hello everyone, yesterday my Xperia 1 VII (XQ-FS54) died in my pocket.
Knowing that the battery was not empty, I tried to turn it on again. The phone showed the Sony logo and then died.
So, I plugged it into my charger and tried to turn it on. It showed the battery percentage (48% so it was not empty when it first died) and then I tried turning it on, and same thing, Sony logo and then nothing
So, I tried starting it in recovery mode, and it worked.
The phone would stay on in recovery mode, but as soon as it tries booting into android, it would show the Sony logo and turn off (after a random interval of time).
BUT on two occasions, the phone went past the Sony logo and on one particular occasion, the phone managed to fully boot, and I was able to unlock the phone. But then, one second later, it died again :( .
I did try everything in recovery mode, except Apply update and Factory reset (this is only if nothing else work, even sending it back to Sony)
The battery being half-empty, I’ve decided to drain the battery by leaving it on in recovery mode and now when I charge it, in QC 2.0 or with USB PD, the phone is stuck charging at 5V, 1A, and won’t turn on at all.
For info, it is an early preordered device but, its IMEI was never flagged on the sony website.
Do you guys think there is anything else I can do? Or is it straight to Sony with this one?
