Your truth is only yours

Recently I’ve had what feels like a paradigm shift in perspective.

For a long time I would say that I was a higher consciousness, but it always felt like an intellectual idea. Now it feels like an experienced reality.
I’ve begun to see myself as the awareness that is perceiving this life, rather than simply the person living it. From that perspective, another thought followed: what if, before entering this life, I chose the environment, circumstances, and people that would shape this particular experience? My role here isn’t necessarily to achieve or accomplish anything. It’s simply to perceive.

Whether those perceptions contribute to some “greater consciousness” is almost beside the point. The act of experiencing itself feels meaningful.
That also changed how I think about legacy. After I die, my direct experience ends, but my way of seeing the world can continue through the people I’ve influenced. My perspective becomes part of theirs, and they, in turn, shape someone else’s reality. In that sense, a perception can outlive the person who first experienced it.

This leads me to another thought. As AI becomes increasingly capable of generating stories, worlds, and experiences, what will those artificial realities ultimately be built from? They won’t emerge from nowhere. They’ll be trained on the accumulated expressions, experiences, and interpretations of countless individuals.

Perhaps our personal perceptions are the raw material from which future realities, both human and artificial, are constructed.

I’m curious whether anyone else has arrived at a similar view through meditation, self-inquiry, or other contemplative practices. Or do you see a flaw in this line of thinking?
