What does everyone think about two middle names?

My daughter‘s full name is Sylvia Lillian Rose and she is called Sylvie. The reason she has two middle names is not a good one, and I will never share it with her. Her name was going to be Sylvia Rose. My husband‘s grandmother had said “why did they name her such a plain name? They should call her Lily.”This was told to me by my mother-in-law while I was still in the hospital. I later had an issue with that… And she said, “I didn’t say it!“. And I said, no, but you told me that the grandmother said it, and that is the same thing. You did not have to tell me.

Anyway, out of this, my husband said we should name her middle name, Lillian. Which actually, now I think Sylvia Lillian sounds much better than Sylvia Rose. and I don’t know why—I was in the hospital, I had just given him birth, I had already lost the Sylvia/Sylvie fight, and I was adamant that Rose had to stay. Honestly, I chose Rose only because her first name was three syllables and I felt she needed a simple middle name. So her name became Sylvia Lillian Rose. andi I liked it, I liked the way it flowed. But neither yher name nor these middle names are family names, which you might think having two middle names would be. So, what is everyone’s take on it? And did you use two middle names? And why?
