Hi there. I’ve been suffering from anxiety and depression and have a fit note stating it started last Friday and will finish tomorrow, however I’m going to need this extending for at least another week, as I don’t feel I can go back to work yet. I requested an extension through the NHS app to my GP and got this message…

“As you are covered until the 21st August, you will need a sick note dated from the 22nd August. This can be done on Monday and be back dated for the 22nd.”

Is there no way I could get the extension tomorrow instead of Monday so I can send it to my employer as quick as possible? Also do I need to ring my GP up at 8am to request a fit note extension or can I ring at anytime? Sorry I’ve never used fit note’s before. Thank you.

Hey everyone. I’ve been on Prozac for 8 weeks now but just the other day I have gone from 10mg to 20mg. Now I’m going through some bad side effects and have had a week off work (self certify). I can’t face work with how I’m feeling at the moment. Need at least one more week off for my body to get used to it. Will I be able to ring my doctors and get a fit note for 1 week over the phone? I’m having nausea, very low mood and high anxiety but I know that’s just the side effects from upping your dose. Thanks

Hi everyone, I’ve been on Prozac for 8 weeks now but just this past week I’ve upped from 10mg to 20mg. Today is my last day of my holiday’s then I’m supposed to be back in work tomorrow, however, the side effects have hit me and I feel awful. Heightened depression, lots of anxiety, nausea, headaches. I don’t feel like I can face work. They know all about my situation as they put work adjustments in place for me when I started the 10mg but I feel like I can’t leave the house. I’m so unmotivated and tired too. Should I call in sick and tell them how I’m feeling and that I won’t be in? Thanks

Hey there. I’ve been on 10mg for just over 5 weeks now and I’ve been prescribed 20mg, however, I’m not sure whether to start the 20mg after my holiday to Germany. I go on Saturday and not sure if I should start now because of the side effects and don’t want to ruin my holiday. When I started 10mg I had headaches for a couple of days and I had heightened anxiety for a while. I can’t really feel much from the 10mg as my anxiety is still quite high and so is my depression. Should I wait till after my holiday to start the 20mg and just carry on with 10mg till after, or start taking 20mg now? Thank you
