So I’ve been having this issue for like a month now, this is a prebuilt pc and I’ve had it for almost 3 years, it’s built with quality components, it’s a RTX 4070 paired with a 5700x, 32GB of ram and the PSU is a Kolink Enclave 700w 80+ gold.

I went to the place I bought it cuz it’s still in warranty, there they tested it, turned it on multiple times in front of me, seemed to be fine, went back home with her and everything went fine for a couple of days until one morning it stopped turning on again, went back to the shop, they even cleaned it and showed me it worked fine, came back to my house, couple of days goes by, same problem. The first time it wouldn’t turn on, I tried unplugging the PSU power cable, switching it off, and holding the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any remaining power. It worked. I shut it down, and when I turned it on again, it took about a second to start. I shut it down again, and the next time I tried, it wouldn’t turn on.

I started to think there was something wrong with the electrical network of my home so I moved it to another room, tried a different power strip, and everything was fine for a few days until it stopped turning on again. Then I disconnected the power switch cable from the motherboard and shorted the pins with a screwdriver, and it booted on immediately. Haven’t tried this last thing again cuz I’m really getting tired of this, the 30 second discharge with the power button thing doesn’t work anymore. Now what I do is I slightly disconnect the PSU power cable until it gives it a spark and it boots on, ik it’s not the right thing to do but honestly I’ve tried anything, at the shop they don’t seem to want to try anything else to know what the problem is and I’m considering buying a new PSU but I’d like to see if any of you could give me an opinion on what this could be. It’s worth noting that once it’s on, it has absolutely no issues—no overheating, no random shutdowns, not even under the most demanding games or heavy power loads. There’s no burning smell, and the problem only happens when trying to power it on.

Thought it could be the power cable that goes to the motherboard or even the power button but managed to catch a sound it makes occasionally after shutting down. It seems to come from around the PSU area, which is what makes me think the power supply might be failing. You can listen to it at the end of the clips I uploaded

List of things I’ve tried:

- Changing the wall outlet

- Using a different power strip

- Cleaning the PC

- Disconnecting all peripherals, external drives, and USB devices

- Draining residual power by holding the power button for 30 seconds with the PSU unplugged

- Shorting the power-on pins on the motherboard with a screwdriver (it worked; I haven’t tried it again)

Thanks in advance to everyone that participates in this post, I’ve been going through a lot of stress and misfortune lately, including losses, so I’d like to at least solve this cuz my pc is my distraction to all of the things that have been going on lately, again thanks in advance to everyone.
