Her downfall saved my life

This is just an honest rant that I wanted to share with this subreddit, I would be really interested to see if more of you had a similar experience to mine.

I used to really listen to her advice during her peak (before she got pregnant, before she even dated Landon) and thought her mindset was the ultimate mindset to have & that I'd have everything I want just because. I was probably around 17 at the time.

Now I am 20 and of course your brain develops dramatically over the years, but seeing her crashouts & just how things unfolded + how she handled things really turned everything around for me super quick. I am just very grateful to have witnessed all of this, otherwise I would've probably still been a dumbass instead of prioritising having a proper career, ACTUAL loving friendships/relationships and a good relationship with myself. The problem was that I was a young & impressionable girl who was looking at this successful woman who has very strong boundaries, has all the answers, has men fawning over her & is constantly drowning in luxury. She seemed like she had it all. I really did wanna become like her and copy what she does. Like, I actually looked up to her.

And that one day when I logged into my IG and saw her story exposing Landon & how he's cheating on her but she was already 4 months pregnant, I thought: she completely went against her own advice. It really baffled me. That's when I realized I'm looking up to a complete idiot. I tried to find her pregnancy announcement in her latest IG posts & YT videos because I thought maybe I've missed it but found nothing. Crickets. Nobody even knew she was going raw on a dude that bought her for 10K. She wasn't even married to the guy. He impressed her with some money and she gave him a child. She gave him life. She made him a father a few months into their idiot sugar daddy x sugar baby relationship.

On a side note, it kind of always rubbed me the wrong way how when she got into a relationship with Landon, she posted incessantly about him and talked about him constantly. Her whole theme was about being a man eater and/or decentering men (using them for money, replacing them easily, letting go of any emotional attachment towards them as soon as you decide you don't want to deal with them anymore, etc.) and she seemed like the type of woman who was smart about her relationships. At least that's what I thought. But during their relationship, she completely melted into him. She loved to show him off and before all of the drama happened, you could really tell how much he meant to her. Her ego was skyrocketing more & more each time she posted about what a good guy the universe blessed her with. Maybe it was just my impression of her, but before she dated him she didn't even seem to be the type of woman who would share so much of her private (love) life to the public (or ANYTHING at all), considering how quiet she was about her past "lovers". Today it all makes sense.. she didn't post them because they were all clients/sugar daddies. She was and still is embarrassed about her past & so she lied from day 1 about what kind of person she really is.

I guess she just gives me the ick now. Like, even when putting everything aside and looking at individual posts of her as if she's a completely random person, I just can't believe that she's a grown woman. I can't believe she's almost 30 & her mindset is still the same as mine when I was 17. How does this happen? All I think when I see her posts now is that she's a total dumbass. She still prioritises men & money like she's a teenager who just got her first boyfriend and car in the same week. And of course she has to show it all off, otherwise it means nothing. She needs everyone to see that she has the best man, the best house, the best income, the best mindset, the best luck, the best life. She will die without external validation.

In no way do I wish her ill or am I happy about how things turned out for her. It's just common decency! I'm not a supporter in any way. But I am really, really glad that at least her situation woke me up.

SELF-HELP GURUS BRAINWASHED YOUNG WOMEN

And Liz is one of the best examples of this.

Through the rise of these self-help, high value influencers many people (teenagers, young women) have started to adopt their mindset and behaviour. It was accepted as normal because of the high volume of content creators preaching the same thing. These teenagers don't understand that the "high value, soft life, multi-millionaire husband" is a fantasy at most. Influencers sell their fans an utopia that they themselves cannot achieve, but the internet turns a blind eye to their mistakes because they like to daydream about the "better life" they've been fed for years. They don't want to accept that the idea sold to them is extremely unrealistic and, for the vast majority, completely unattainable. It is a cult. They don't want to accept that their leader has been wrong about nearly everything and can't follow her own ideology. Liz was giving bad advice to women about situations she's never been in herself, and now that she's met with a real-life situation that requires critical thinking, she is dumbstruck. She never knew how difficult this situation would be because, for her, everything is rainbows and cupcakes. She is the ✨ exception ✨ and ✨ master manifestor ✨, of course she is also better than everyone else and don't you dare criticise her. Otherwise she'll livestream herself yelling at the phone in a Dubai hotel, calling you ugly like a little high school bully.

The internet is BRAINWASHED by these influencers. People love to fantasize about a better, easier, softer life because the state of our current world is disastrous and the future looks disappointing. It is extremely easy to profit off of poor people on the internet. This type of content is NOT for your benefit, it's for their pockets. I wish more people would realize this. The idea that has been sold to you is FAKE. Today, many women believe they will just find a rich husband or manifest millions to escape poverty. I urge you to think on your own and get proper education. Finish school. Finish college. Get a job. Read books. Stop consuming short form content. One thing everyone should've learned by now is that influencers are not magical, divine beings that have all the answers forever and we should listen to their advice. These content creators are playing in your face. They want you to keep on consuming their bullshit. Their advice is unrealistic and cannot be applied in real life. They are not teachers, not coaches, not your idols. They are entertainers at most and their advice should not be taken seriously. All these short-form-content apps, such as TikTok and Instagram (and AI !!!) have dumbified people and turned them into sheeps. No one THINKS anymore.

Also, one more thing: I see more and more people thinking the whole "using men as ATMs" thing can be applied in a normal, healthy relationship. This is sugar baby behaviour. If you are ever in a normal relationship with a man, you will understand that he's not willing to shower you in cash like a stripper. If you want to pursue this path, go on. But use the right term for it. You're not being spoiled by a man, you're a sugar baby. If you make it clear to a man from the beginning that you're in it for the money, he will see you as nothing more but a sugar baby, NOT an equal partner. You are taking advice from escorts on how to be in a healthy relationship in which they themselves have never been. Their relationships have always only been transactional. There is so much people just overlook here!!! You are not in the same boat as these influencers!!!

AIO? my mom is asking me to provide financially

hello, i am F20 and i'm completely terrified of my mother. i have finished school not long ago and have been searching for a job ever since, but unfortunately i haven't gotten any job interviews yet, despite sending out multiple emails daily. my mother has always been reliant on me financially and it all started when i was 16 (legally able to work), so she forced me to take on multiple jobs while going to school. i eventually got sick from the stress, i was hospitalised and before i even recovered my mom was already pestering me about her needing money. if i told her i didn't wanna work anymore, she would get mad at me and wouldn't talk to me/would avoid me and the only conversation we would have would be filled with hatred and anger towards me. i always felt very tense in her presence and despite me absolutely hating and dreading to work long hours after school, i was relieved to not having to be near my mother.

while she does work a part time job and gets around 500€, she mostly spends it online for cheap stuff from temu and tiktok shop and her excuse is that each package is "only 20€". (while ordering multiple times a week) and as soon as her money runs out, she asks me to buy groceries or other necessities. i still have some money in my bank account from working (i was working part-time during school until winter) and i don't really want to spend that, so i told her i won't be buying groceries just because she wants to spend all of her money online. she got extremely angry, called me names, she started yelling and asking things like "do you think i wanna provide any of this?", "who do you think you are" etc., i felt extremely stressed and just went back into my room, i understand that i should also pay for things since i live here and i am 20 years old, i understand that it is a privilege to have a roof over my head and to have food, and i am scared of being kicked out because my mother has been threatening me with it for a while. i cannot find a job, i cannot find an apartment, i don't have any friends or relatives that could help me, and i am absolutely hopeless and devastated. i get yelled at every time she sees me outside my room and she absolutely hates me entering the kitchen to make food, because i am "wasting her food". i am getting heart palpitations even by just writing about all this.

i feel like i am being intensely manipulated into feeling bad for her/about this, but i don't know if my brain is playing tricks on me and i'm just being ungrateful. on my birthday she took the money i got from my aunt and grandma because she said she needed it more and it does make me feel a little sad, but she always tells me she's paid for everything when i was younger so that makes it alright. i wish i could work and move out but nobody will take me and i could cry every day. i am so extremely stressed i don't know what to do, i am in constant fight or flight and i wake up at night terrified with my heart beating out of my chest

mind you, my father works and has an alright-ish income. but i wouldn't say we are middle class. i'm not sure if that's the word for it, but i feel like my mother is greedy when it comes to money. i just want a second opinion please, am i overreacting about all this? has anyone else experienced this? am i just being ungrateful?
