We recently purchased a Maytag. We used it today to roast something at a high temperature — beets at 400 F

I noticed that the back panel and the back few inches of the stove top became very hot. Our previous stove (not a Maytag).never did that,

Is that normal or is there something wrong?
Any ideas?
