Genuinly don't know who to put in the last one

Either way, I think having all of this in such a short amount of time shows why the western empire had no chance.

Realized some people can't recognize the rulers from coins alone so here are them from left to right:

Majorian, Petronius Maximus, Aetius, Joannes, Olybrius, Honorius, idk, Valentinian III and Constantius III

IDEA: Numidian coins of Masinissa or Micipsa should be refered as coins of Masinissa, Micipsa or Gauda

Why? Because look at an issue of Masinissa/Micipsa and an issue of Gauda and tell me they don't look the same or similar.

It makes doubt that the coins identified as Gauda's could actually be his. But it also reminds me that we don't really have much to identify those rulers.

Why are Isaac I's coins that rare?

At first I thought it was because he solely ruled 2 years but an other short ruling guy like Nikephoros III has very common coins, so what could be the reason?

It's just a shame that his coins are that rare because Isaac I Komnenos is really an underrated figure.

Has anyone ever seen byzantine coins from north africa bearing this Monogram?

Hello everyone, I collect coins of berber rulers and today I'm very interested in the mauro-roman king Mastigas. His wikipedia page states that he minted coinage bearing this monogram in the name of Justinian I (at least according to G. Camps). The problem is that I haven't seen any on internet and I have looked everywhere. I'd love to purchase one for my collection so I was wondering if any of you owned one or has seen one?

Is a coin like that worth it?

Now I haven't bought it yet but I was wondering if acquiring this coin of Constantine V and Leo IV was worth it (20 euros) or if I could find better exemples for the same price. I mean it looks pretty nice but I'd just like to know.

Plus I'd like to own a coin from that period because the coin styles are very interesting.

How do I make sodium sesquicarbonate?

Can't find any of it anywhere so people told me I only needed sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate to make it but I don't know how much of both is needed, any idea?

Like can I make a make 5% solution of sodium sesquicarbonate for bronze treatment by simply mixing both in water?

Constantine V?

I just like to look at low quality coins that seem to come from the 7th or 8th century just in case I find something and this one is really strange (never seen that kind of reverse). Reminds me of Constantine V's young portraits.

Found this quite unique looking anonymous follis

It's being sold as a Nikephoros III anonymous follis but it doesn't correspond to any known types, any idea? It's because this one has letters.

Tiberius III Apsimar coin?

Found this coin selling on a site and I couldn't help but notice that it looks a lot like Tiberius III due to the presence of the lance?

What do y'all think, because this is my favorite byzantine emperor

Is it dangerous to leave your coins in distilled water for more than 24h?

I've been doing that, I reused the bath for two other coins, should I change the water?

Can you buy ancient coins in Cyprus?

I know that the neighboring countries have completely banned that market but I can't find informations saying it's completely forbidden in Cyprus, are there like legal coin sellers there?

After carefully removing the BD with a toothpick, here's the result

The images are of poor quality so the coin looks like it's a terrible quality while it isn't btw.

Should I perform the treatment to eradicate the BD?

Oh the bare metal was already there when I got the coin, removing the BD dust just revealed some

Questions about coin cleaning

While I've seen a lot of articles on how to do it, there are still things where I'm not sure about what I'm supposed to do:

  1. How long is the acetone bath, 10, 20 minutes?

  2. Do I need to wipe the coin after this?

  3. After the distilled water bath, do I need to wipe it again or should I just leave it?

  4. Is there anything to do after that, like protecting them or something?

Thanks in advance!

Fyi, I'm doing this on the coins from this post:Should I clean those byzantine coins or are they fine the way they are? : r/AncientCoins

Tempted about buying my first byzantine seal, who could it be?

I have never bought any byzantine seals but lately seeing everyone buying some made me curious, is it unidentifiable because of the reverse?

Should I clean those byzantine coins or are they fine the way they are?

I recently acquired those byzantine coins which I assume are from the Heraclian dynasty (with a bit of Phokas) and I was wondering if I should clean them, they look like they have details to reveal.

Also is the the second one on the left Constans II?

Did nobody ever notice that the cover of the level first blood calls it "firts blood"?

I just noticed that while going through the game covers in HLMWADexplorer and it feels so weird that I never noticed it after so many years
