I had to submit an SAP appeal for Fall and I was just wondering if anyone else had to do this and if so, how long did it take to hear back about it?
Before you guys say to contact the financial aid office and ask, just know I tried and it’s damn near impossible to get ahold of them (IFYKYK). I would just like a quick answer from anyone that is or was in same position, please and thank you.

I was wondering for anyone that is or was in the SMC nursing program in SoCal could answer a few questions for me. To start, how do the clinical placements look like in terms of what units they place you in? Also, I was curious if they offer a preceptorship during the final semester of clinicals? If so, do they allow you to choose a specialty area or just kind of put you wherever? Lastly, what else is offered or can be done during the program that can assist you in gaining some extracurricular or leadership experience?

When I check my financial aid, it doesn’t show my cal grant or pell grant? I checked csac and it shows I am getting awarded the cal grant. Also, checked fafsa and should be receiving the pell as well. However, when I check in corsair, the only thing I see is the ccpg awarded and nothing else. Is anyone else having this problem and talked to the financial aid office?
I don’t really understand how this whole Slingshot thing works to be honest. Got an email today stating all materials required and saying we needed all our nursing books before first day of class. However, when I log on to the slingshot thing, which I guess is the SMC bookstore? It says no course materials. I called the bookstore and got transferred to Slingshot and they said it usually doesn’t show or won’t be available until the week before class starts. The phone call was kind of confusing and I don’t feel like I got enough information and assurance. I feel like that’s kind of cutting it close and it stresses me a bit lol. Has anyone dealt with this before and can vouch for how this works?
I got accepted to LAPC and SMC. LAPC is closer to me, but I have heard a lot of negative things about their program whereas I haven’t really heard much about SMC. If anyone has heard or has experience at either of these schools and could share, I’d really appreciate it as I have to make the final decision ASAP.
Hi! I wanted to make a post and see if anyone has made a discord or anything yet so we can all connect and potentially help each other through the program? I’m sure it’s going to be tough and even though we’re all going to essentially be doing this by ourselves, I think it’d be nice if we could all have a lil space for us to be able to communicate and share tips :)
