Hello everyone I hope you’re all well, I’m just after some advice as the title suggests. A family member lost a set of house keys today and in panic rang the first locksmith she found online. She was quoted £59 to come out and open the door for her. The locksmith came out and drilled a hole into the lock opened the door and charged £258 - emergency call out fee and lock drilling he wrote on the receipt. Alone and obviously intimidated she felt she had no other choice to pay. I’ve attached a photo of the current state of the lock and just wondering if it will be easy to replace by just getting a new barrel with new keys? as she is now scared she will have to call another locksmith out tomorrow and face the same thing & be quoted for a full lock replacement.
Any help whatsoever will be greatly appreciated
