Was not allowed to take G driving test
This happened in the Ottawa area earlier today. My wife booked a test and filled out her info on a kiosk when entering the centre. When her instructor met with her, he informed her that she would not be able to take the test and would have to reschedule and pay a 50% cancellation fee because she had filled out her highway driving experience incorrectly.
She had assumed (incorrectly) that the questions about whether she had driven on highways or freeways in the last 3 months were legal disclaimers stating that she had only driven within the parameters of her G1 license. (She was testing directly to G because of experience in another country).
Apparently, there was no way to fix this mistake and now we have to rebook. I had taken the day off work to drive her there which is additionaly frustrating.
The question is somewhat ambiguous and she actually called me over to clarify and I thought the same as her-it was making sure she was not driving outside her G1 privileges.
There was also only one kiosk at this location and it would only work within 30 minutes of your appointment and there was a lineup for it so you were very rushed going through the questions and there are no employees to clarify any of the questions. My wife's first language is not English although she is proficient.
To make everything triple frustrating, when I talk to the lady at the counter, she was very dismissive and essentially told me to move along and not hold up the line since she was very busy.
Not sure if I am just venting or looking for advice. Lol.
