Advice for Mexico early-August
Hey everyone!
I’ve posted in this sub a few times already, both for help deciding on resorts and asking questions about specific properties, so first off thank you to everyone who responded before. It’s been super helpful.
I’m pretty new to all-inclusives, traveling to Mexico, and luxury travel in general since I’m only 24, so I wanted to ask for some overall advice for an upcoming trip to the Cancún area.
I decided on:
•Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun Preferred Club Ocean View for 3 nights
•Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite for 2 nights
•Atelier Playa Mujeres Inspira Rooftop Suite for 3 nights
The reason we’re switching rooms at Secrets is because I booked the first 3 nights with Hyatt points. I booked the Honeymoon Suite at Secrets and Atelier through the Chase Travel Portal. We’re going in early August, and it’s just me and my girlfriend. This is for a post bar-exam trip so I really want to make the most out of it!
Mainly looking for any general advice or tips:
• things you wish you knew beforehand
• must-dos at either resort
• ways to maximize the experience
• upgrade tips / early check-in experience
• tipping advice
• transportation recs once we land
• anything else first-timers usually overlook
Also had a few more specific questions:
•Any restaurants at either resort that are overrated or skippable?
•What’s the process usually like for switching rooms when it’s technically a new reservation at the same resort? (I know this is probably niche)
•How early should we arrive at the Cancun airport for the flight home?
•Anything important to know about booking through Chase Travel vs booking direct with the resort?
Really appreciate any advice you guys have! I know this is a lot but I’m a chronic over-planner.
