Found a pigeon outside, acting unusual
I saw this pigeon in my backyard , looks mature and not a baby.. (my dad confirmed he is mature when I sent him a pic) He seems to have his wings and tail feathers. Everything seems normal to me, from my knowledge. (Idk much) like is eyes, nose, his beak, his feet, everything seemed normal overall. But he wasnt flying. When I tried to reach my hand out, to pet him or touch him, he would dig his head inside his, like, himself, like completely try to little himself and squeeze into a ball (video 1) But I could pet him without him reacting or anything. When I would try to grab him, he starts flapping his wings. Not exactly trying to fly, but I would say just trying to get me away.
When I did try to grab him multiple times he did at some point stretch his neck entirely and try to fly, and only was able to, like, jump on a stair. I used a cloth to somehow scare/guide him into a cage that we had. (He did poop once, like green something , tiny, not that runny) In cage i out a very flat tray of water so that he can just bathe himself and drink some water and not drown, just incase.. He didn't react, even when I sprinkled some water on him..he didn't even look down towards the water to try and sip it or explore. I thought it's cuz he is scared and I'd just give him some space. I walked only a little from him and he ended up doing this really weird things (like in video ).
And after that, I ended up getting scared for his health and removing him instantly the moment I saw him doing that. And I tried to use a aatercan to water near him and later on him, and idkhow to feel about the way he reacted. At first I thought it was heat stroke or something since it's like 36-39 celsius here. But now I'm like it neurological? Is it something humans can get too? Or cats? Cuz I have a cat...and I can't obviously bring him in for his safety and my paranoia of my cat getting something from him.
(I've delt a baby pigeon in the past that I rescued, still with baby hair and raised with my dad till he grew up and flew away, my dad knows pigeons and loves them. But he doesn't live with us atm so it's not easy to do this on my own.)
