Interview with Elizabeth Siders attorney: She is not a victim.
While I think it’s a bit to early for her attorney to be giving interviews, and I question the ethics of it, WSYX managed to speak with Tommy Stolly, who was appointed to represent Elizabeth, the mother of the 16 children recently rescued in Ohio.
Stolly said that Elizabeth does not consider herself a victim, despite the many narratives online speculating otherwise.
(I’ve read quite a fewof those speculations, and it makes me wonder if it’s because of the age she was when she began getting pregnant, but also about the power of mugshots—specifically how vulnerable, sad, and still young she still looks in hers, as opposed to her codefendants).
Elizabeth also said that she misses her children and wonders when she’ll can see them.
At least two of these children were in such terrible shape that they required hospitalization, and law enforcement said if they’d been a day or two later, it might have been too late to save them. And reportedly, none of the 16 children are developmentally on track.
