Why on earth didn't I play this sooner - a new players perspective
I've been sim racing for 5 or 6 years. I remember a Reddit comment I saw in the early days comparing the best games. They said "all roads lead to iRacing."
I thought I'd be different and that I wouldn't be missing much.
Started off with GT7 before getting into ACC and AMS2 after buying a PC. Mainly played AI races as was always a bit put off by online multiplayer.
Fast forward to today and I completed my first three mx5 races. I was worried about how competitive I'd be but the huge number of splits made it feel close and competitive. Managed to come second each time with some amazingly clean wheel to wheel battles. Easily some of the best racing I've had.
The season structure makes it feel far less aimless than other titles, the car is great fun to drive, and I've just been blown away with both the community and the wealth of resources and content.
I'm officially hooked, and my wallet is nervous.
