Of the 20 highest-paid professions, only one is not a doctor (or dentist)

This is crazy to me. In the quest to find decent career options in the new world order of AI, it would seem that one could do a lot worse than becoming a doctor.

>Some medical specialties are eye-poppingly well-paid. Here are some top salaries for doctors in their peak earning years, ages 40 to 55, according to the researchers. The figures date to 2017, so they may be higher now:

  • Neurosurgery: $920,500
  • Orthopedic surgery: $788,600
  • Dermatology: $655,200
  • Cardiac surgery: $607,300
  • Ophthalmology: $597,000

Advice fishing for bluegill in highly pressured pond

Man, this pond is tough. The water’s clear and the bluegill are super skittish from being overfished. You can see dozens of them right in the shallows, but they just stare down everything and swim away. They instantly spook if you use a bobber, heavy line, or anything with flash. The only thing even getting a look is a tiny jig gliding naturally sideways, but if it looks the slightest bit fake, they won't commit.

Right now using a 5' UL rod, 6# mono, small hooks (10-12) and soft plastics without any luck. The pond is also quite weedy.

100 million Americans earn more than $50,000 per year

It's about 50% of the total workforce. When we wonder how the economy keeps trudging along despite the crazy daily headlines about the Orange Idiot, who's actually supporting companies like Netflix, Apple, Wal-Mart, and every other company that needs to bring in money month after month, it's the middle-income earners who do it.

It isn't the poor, or the wealthy, that keep this economy afloat. It's the middle class who carry the lion's share and represent most of the consumer spending that supports the US economy.

Why are Gen Z so lazy and yet also totally ageist toward boomers?

I mean, you know...if it's fair to whine about boomers stealing your jobs and ruining the planet (not a boomer, btw), then it must also be fair to call out Gen Z for being dumber than sh*t and lazy, right?

Oh, yeah, and addicted to gaming. They also have zero sense of humor, and yet they tend to laugh at everything.

Admittedly, this is rhetorical for me since I don't play with the torch timer, but for games that heavily rely on torch time, how do spellcasters with access to the Light spell who also happen to acquire ADV with it impact the criticality of light?

Take, for example, the Priest's Tier 1 Protection From Evil spell.

Range is Close, and Duration is Focus. Say the Priest casts it on an ally standing beside them (Close), and the ally moves Near away to the other side of a chamber, does that mean that as long as the Priest continues to focus that the target remains protected by the spell, even though they've moved outside of Close range?

If the target continues to move further away, say double Far, will they still be under the Protection From Evil spell as long as the Priest continues to Focus?

Surprise normally grants advantage on attack rolls. How about for spellcasting checks? Like, if a wizard surprises someone and uses their free turn to cast Charm Person on them, does the spellcaster get advantage on the roll?
