Note on 10L80 Valve Body failure P0747
In case any of you get the dreaded transmission failure that symptomatically is rough down shifting and momentary lockup. Especially from 7th or 8th gear.
The transmission will throw a P700 and P0747 code.
Good news.
Because this issue is widespread on 2017–2023 GM 10-speed transmissions, General Motors issued an urgent Special Coverage Program (Bulletin #N242454441).
Warranty Extension: GM has extended the warranty specifically for this valve body wear condition and code P0747 to 15 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km) from the vehicle's original in-service date.
My experience is positive with this repair being fully covered by GM. 2022.5 with 99k km on the odometer.
The turnaround was 2 days at the dealer most of which was a delay in parts shipping.
Parts availability seems to not be an issue.
At lease not here in communist Canada.
